鍵盤が渦を巻く花を描いた、
少し奇妙でねじれたアート・ワークがいい。
落ち着いた、大人なアート感覚だ。
2人がアメリカ人、2人がイギリス人の4ピースによる
これが驚異のデビュー作。
テキサス・サイケデリックと
英オーケストラル・ポップが幸福な融合を果たし、
エレクトロニック・エレメンツが華を添える
素晴らしい作品。
スローコアな佇まいに
フレイミング・リップス、マーキュリー・レブ、
ポリフォニック・スプリーに通じる
サイケデリック・テイストと
スーパー・フォーリー・アニマルズのような
牧歌的ひねり具合が加わり、
時折ビーチボーイズばりのコーラスもみせる
メロウで少しひねくれた音世界。
その繊細で美しいサイケデリアに
魅了される。

An unusual album by this band. Varied musical styles make for a very interesting listen! Am not sure if the band have now split up?

After a few listens the album will hook you in. I would suggest popping this album in for a road trip then lighting up a cig, stoag, swigging a brew, slurping a coke or whatever you do. Sit back and relax and let the album guide you through the landscapes. Nonetheless, I believe the ablum is best listened through desert landscapes, ie West Texas, East Cali, New Mex, etc. The album is a great concoction of many different sounds layered together. It is an american version of the scottish band Mogwai or English Spiritualized with more singing, less guitar and more synth sounds layered. I highly suggest this difficult to categorize album. Wonderful debut.

The Earlies must have made friends a lot more easily than they made music. Particularly music journos. Like another disappointed reviewer, I bought this based on reviews and recommendations (after buying the first three Alabama 3 albums). This album is weak, thin, boring and dull. I couldn't bring myself to listen to it more than twice.
