オリジナルアルバムは持っているのでボーナスディスク目当てで購入です。
リマスターは比べていないのであまり効果は分かりませんがボーナスディスクは最高です。
カントリー期のサウンドでコステロオリジナル曲のライブは新鮮でとても良いです。

カントリーの、カバーアルバムということであるけども、聴きやすいポップなカバーレコードですので、コステロが好きなら全く問題なく聴けます。

カントリーと言ってもポップなアルバムで聴きやすいので、カントリーミュージックの聴き始めとしてここから入るのも有りかと思います。

相変わらずアトラクションズの演奏は良い演奏で、カントリーを演奏してても、やはりブリティッシュな要素のある演奏をしていますので万人にも聴きやすいプレイをしています。

前作「トラスト」で煮詰まったコステロがプロデューサーのニック・ロウと別れ、ナッシュビルで録音したカントリーのカバー集。巷では評判良くないようですが、決してそんなことありませんよ！　アルバム制作に招かれデュエットしたこともあるジョージ・ジョーンズや元バーズのグラム・パーソンズといったアーティストの楽曲を思い入れたっぷりに披露。この当時まだパンクの尻尾を引きずっていた怒れるコステロ青年が歌うブルーなカントリーは十分に魅力的です。バックのアトラクションズの演奏ぶりも相変わらずタイトかつシャープで本当にかっこいい。今回ついたボーナスディスクもいい雰囲気のライヴ音源がたっぷりと入ってお得です。このアルバムを足がかりに彼の数ある音楽的ルーツの一つであるカントリーの世界にどっぷり浸かってみるのも一興かと。

- livraison d'un boitier "Almost Blue" (1994) filmé et réputé neuf, mais en fait le CD contenu est "All this useless beauty" (1996) !
Pour le moins surprenant.

I can't believe I didn't have it. A long time Elvis fan, I went to play Almost Blue the other day and bah! Only on vinyl.And my record player isn't that good. So a few quid on Amazon and the collection is complete.

At the time of its initial release I was a real EC fa - I'd "discovered" him along with half the country when he released Olivers Army and the Armed Forces album. Followed by the truly astounding Get Happy & Trust albums I was not prepared for this at the time. Its a C&W covers album. Nicely played, but who listens to C&W?

Years later i learned to love it, and is right up there with his best work. You'll know Good year For The Roses, but nearly all of the others are as good.
