Chicago's Rise Against might be seen as an outcast amongst it's peers. Armed with the fury of classic punk acts such as minor threat and bad brains. They blend intelligent vocals with a serious commitment to providing a positive alternative to the oft-dreary and disenchanted arura that engulfs most punk bands.

Product Description

Rise Against are a political punk band from Chicago who recorded Siren Song of the Counter-Culture with Rage Against the Machine producer GGGarth and Rage and Nirvana mixer Andy Wallace. The four band members came together from punk bands 88 Fingers Louie, Pinhead Circus, and the Enemy, and the emo band Baxter, and play old school punk (e.g., Descendants) with a strong political point of view.

Siren Song of the Counter-Culture has drawn rave reviews from key publications. Rolling Stone praised the band's "rousing, intelligent fury," while Alternative Press said "the band's engrossing hardcore is an urgent siren song that's appropriate for these angst-ridden, uncertain times."

１枚目から順に聴いています。
疾走感とメロディの良さが心地よいです。

まず聴いて思った事は、とにかく熱い。そして、メロディーがイイ！
熱いボーカルのバンドは数多くあるが、このバンドの魅力はズバリ声。
そして、飽きの来ないメロディー。初めて聴いたときに思ったのが、
どの曲を聴いてもシングルカットできる曲ばっかり。つまり捨て曲が無いのに驚いた。
大抵、アルバムの中に聴き流してしまう曲が何曲かあるモノだが、
このアルバムは全く無い。ライブで例えたら最初から総立ちで、
あっという間にアンコールまで演奏しきっちゃう感じ。
3,4,9,11,とシングルカットされてますが、それ以外の曲にも名曲が隠れています。
メロコア界の圧倒的な人気を誇るのも頷ける、メジャーデビュー作の一枚。
このジャンルに入門する方や、知らない人にも是非聴いて欲しい作品です。

…といっても結構前からシーンでは活躍していたバンドらしいですが…。
このアルバムがメジャー第一弾なので、タイトルには超新星としました。
とにかくこのCDはどこをきっても捨て曲がないのが良い。
Sick Of It AllのボーカルのルーのようなHC的シャウトもあれば、
Bad Religionのようなコーラスパンクもある…飽きさせないです。
最近の通勤＆ドライブのおともはもっぱらこのアルバムです。
とにかく聞けって感じです。

まず何と言っても声がかっこいいです。サンプル聴いて分かるとおりしゃがれた声で激しく歌い上げてます。とても男らしい！
おすすめは①④⑥⑨です。
私がこのアルバムを買ったいきさつなんですが、
「Rock Against Bush」という有名なコンピに⑨が入ってて、それを聴いて一瞬でホレたしまったんです。
それくらい⑨は勢いがあってカッコイイ!!!!
Strike Anywhereが好きな人は特におすすめです。

I remember seeing them at the Glass House in Pomona when this album came out. I can remember standing there as the singer swung the microphone around in circles at the start of the absolute banger State of the Union and thinking, as a tall person, hope that doesnt hit me in the head. It didnt. Great concert, great album. Sounds great on vinyl. It came undamaged and unwarped. Cant complain.

Il prodotto é arrivato confezionato molto bene in una tempistica decente. Parlando dell'album, é il mio preferito di questa band, uno degli album più vecchi in cui si sente tutta la forza e la rabbia di questo gruppo poco considerato in Italia che riesce a mettere nei testi tanti significati e messaggi importanti. La pubblicazione su vinile aumenta ancora di più la forza di questo disco. Peccato non avere una stampa di grammatura maggiore.

One of Rise Against's better albums Siren Songs is a surprisingly feel-good punk rock album from the characteristically huge choruses to the up-beat riffs and impassioned verses that draw a lot from NYHC bands like H20 it still sounds aggressive but there are distinctly up-beat undertones. In terms of Rise Against wider discography I would rate this as being just below The Sufferer and the Witness in overall quality but I can easily why some would prefer it

it's the only rise against cd i like. just rebuying it for the hard copy. If you like the radio music that Rise Against puts out now, you like won't like this and vice versa. It's a fast punk cd. Put on song #2(First Drop) and song after song is just classic after classic. It's basically fast song, melodic song, and repeat. Rarely do cds have 10 straight songs that not only fit the cd and keep the energy progressing, but that are classics by themselves. Up there(for me) with the likes of Op Ivy's Energy, Catch 22's Keasby nights by having no weak songs. Lots of music doesn't have the timeless quality, but this cd is just so amazing. it's emo and whiney but fast, poppy and punk rawk at the same time. Can't think of another cd that hits it so perfect.

I'm not a Rise Against fan, but this cd is a good as a cd can be.

Si vous avez de bons haut parleurs, n'hésitez pas sur les décibels faut envoyer !
Un très bon album j'ai tout de suite été conquis. Pour un groupe de punk, la voix du chanteur est plutôt originale et un peu de changement, ça fait du bien de temps en temps !
