Comus' first album contains an imaginative if elusive brand of experimental folk-rock, with a tense and sometimes distressed vibe. At times, this straddles the border between folk-rock and the kind of songs you'd expect to be sung at a witches' brew fest, the haunting supernatural atmosphere enhanced by bursts of what sound like a theramin-like violin, hand drums, flute, oboe, ghostly female backup vocals, and detours into almost tribal rhythms.

バイオリンやビオラ、フルートやオーボエが重なり合い、呪術的な男性&女性ボーカルが絡み合い、闇の賛美歌のようなダーク且つ神秘的な世界が蠢いています。美しさと醜さが同居しています。私は好きです。

作品は最高です。作品レビューは他の方をご参考ください。予約時からSilver vinylとなっていますが、到着したのは通常のBlack。交換の手配したしたが、再送されてきたのもBlackだったので返品。
結局お目当てのSilver vinylを手に入れる事が出来ずじまい。こういった些細なミスで「他のショップで予約しておけは良かった」と理不尽な後悔することほど残念なことはない。
マーケットに出品されているものも含めて購入検討されている方はご注意を。

Questa è per me la migliore ristampa non recente di questo autentico capolavoro. Buona la qualità del cartone e buona la resa sonora. L'unica soluzione appagante per non svenarsi con questo disco essenziale.

This is a great experimental, progressive and little psychedelic folk album. A classics in its own genre. Don't expect easy listening folk with beautiful melodies from the very beginning to the end. With open mind you may be very pleased to hear this musical journey.

I first heard this from a school friend back in the deep dark 70s and it was already rare .It took me years to score the original and this mysterious twisted folk classic ,laced with violent lyrics ,a vocalist straight out of “the Exorcist” and a climax which features the word “Insane” swinging from speaker to speaker seemed to be forgotten to all except crazed collectors who preferred trading to actually listening. Then David Tibet from Current 93 discovered the album and spread the word once more. The band reformed! This isn’t the first reissue but it is probably the best sounding one. And it is utterly essential.
