I am not much more than a casual fan of bluegrass, by way of qualification, but this album seems to be on everybody's top ten list. I now agree. And, the recording quality manages to keep up with the virtuoso playing.
This has some very nice guitar work. Even as a casual fan of picking, I guess is what 'they' call it, this is some good stuff here. The sound quality is a fun mix between an antique recording and a great separation between the several men doing their thing. The cd works well as background ambiance as you work or a serious audio session with the lights low and attention focused. I like this cd very much, I will listen to it often to try and become a bit more familiar with what these kids are doing with their instruments.
Didn't quite know what to expect when I ordered this , I bought it as another source of Clarence White's guitar picking, but the quality is excellent. One of the best Blue Grass CDs I've heard and CW's guitar playing is an added bonus. Excellent value for money.
