2000年代前半のイギリスのポストパンク／ニューウェイヴ・リヴァイヴァル勢の一翼と目されるインディーロック・バンド、ブロック・パーティー（Bloc Party）の1stアルバム（全英アルバムチャート3位）。ソニック・ユース（Sonic Youth）、ザ・キュアー（The Cure）、ジョイ・ディヴィジョン（Joy Division）、ニュー・オーダー（New Order）、ギャング・オブ・フォー（Gang of Four）等の1970年代後半～1980年代前半のポストパンク／ニューウェイヴとザ・ケミカル・ブラザーズ（The Chemical Brothers）等の1990年代以降のダンス／エレクトロニカの影響を受けた、パーカッシヴでダンサブルなインディー・ギターロック。ケリー・オケレケ（lead vocals, rhythm guitar）のヴォーカル・スタイルはザ・キュアーのロバート・スミスに少し似ている。シングル曲、「So Here We Are/Positive Tension」（両A面。全英5位）、「Banquet」、「The Pioneers」収録
