ロックの偉大なるカメレオンを演じている間は素晴らしかったが、80年代中頃までに、デヴィッド・ボウイは彼の“変化”が皮肉な行き詰まりにたどり着いたことに気づいた。それでも、この1974年のライヴ・アルバムは、彼のむら気な性質を何とか昇華させている。うわべだけは『Diamond Dogs』を支持しているが、ギイ・ペラートのジギー、大いなるデンマーク人の想像なしには（悪名高いポップの取り替えっ子でも、舞台にはできない技）、ボウイのイメージと音楽はツアー中にすぐに変わり始め、アメリカのR&B風のエッジを帯び、その点がこのキャリアを回顧する作品のあらゆる部分に滲み出ている。たしかに、ボウイはツアー途中でこのライヴ・バンドを中心にして『Young Americans』を録音するために、シン・ホワイト・デュークの化身まで作った。

フィラデルフィアのタワー・シアターのショーから採用したこのエディションは、リマスターされ、「Panic in Detroit」そして「Space Oddity」と言った収録曲を追加して、初めてショー全体が聞けるようになった。さらに、プロデューサーであり、長年にわたるボウイの協力者たるトニー・ヴィスコンティの考察に満ちたライナーも読むことができる。（Jerry McCulley, Amazon.com）

CCCDではないのを確認してから買いました、さっき届いて2回目聞きながら書いています、すごい盛り上がってしまいました、ボウイファンとしてこれ聞かなかったのは失格ですね…。

　今から二十数年前、このレコードを聴きこみました。その後ＣＤを探してもなかなか見つからず手に入れることが出来ませんでした。
　アルバム「ロウ」を発表後、非常にテンションの高いころのステージではないでしょうか。「ＦＩＶＥ　ＹＥＡＲＳ」や「ＳＴＡＲ」などが聴きどころ。楽しみです。

この『ステージ』は、すでにアナログ盤でもCDでもリリースされていました。しかし、オリジナル盤では、実際のコンサートの前半、後半を入れ替えていました。つまり、実際のセット・リストでは『ロウ』『ヒーローズ』からの曲目が前半に演奏されていたのに、レコードではディスク２に、実際のセット・リストでは後半に演奏されたヒット・パレード的曲目が、レコードではディスク１に収められていました。
本リイシュー盤では、アナログ盤、旧CDでの強引な改編が改まって、アナログ盤の収録時間の都合上未発表に終わっていた二曲が追加され、実際のコンサートのセット・リストどおりの曲順に改められました。さらにデジタル・リマスタリングが施されているのですから、言うことなしです。さすがライノの仕事ですね。
ライナーはトニー・ヴィコンティ。ツアーの日時、場所についての全記録も印刷されていますが、「NHK Nihon Budokan」など、怪しい記述も、ちらほら（もちろん、正しくは「NHK Hall」）。ライヴ盤につき、歌詞は印刷されていません。
さて、内容。どれもいいのですが、あえて聴き物をあげると、ディスク1でグルーヴが暖まったあとになだれ込む、ディスク２のトラック１から５での『ジギー・スターダスト』ヒット・パレードです。一流のミュージシャン、バックバンドが、ロックなグルーヴ、ビート感のある演奏で、ロックなグルーヴ、ビート感のあるボウイの歌唱を支えています。聴いていて思わず、タテ乗りになります。トラック９の「ステイ」、トラック10の「TVC15」ではまるでグルーヴが完全に“沸点”に達したかのようです。
70年代のボウイのキャリアを総括する充実のライヴ盤です。

70年代のまさにボウイの黄金期のアルバムを満遍なく神掛かった演奏で聴かせてくれるボウイとバンドに驚愕してしまう1枚。

参考としてセットリストはジギー、ステステ、ロウ、ヒーローズよりの選曲で全く異なるコンセプトの3枚の世界観を約2時間のアルバムにまとめて聴かせるボウイのパフォーマンス性の高さにも兎に角圧巻である。

しかし、レコード屋でこれを最近、入手したのだが、1800円くらいでしかも帯付きで購入出来たので、亡くなった事による便乗した様な価格には注意してほしい。
ネットは便利だが、ファンならレコード屋に行く事をオススメする。

永遠の名作ライブアルバムがオリジナル・プロデューサーのトニー・ヴィスコンティによるニュー・ステレオ・ミックス盤で再発です。
しかもオリジナルは曲毎に歓声がフェイドアウトするツギハギだらけの曲順だったのが、ちゃんとコンサート通りの曲順に「戻されて」います。
しかしこの国内盤はおぞましきCCCDなので当然私は輸入盤で入手します。

このコンサートだけは私にとっては格別の思い出があります。
当時、「LOW」「“HEROES”」を聴きまくっていた私は、ボウイーを心底「魂の救済者」「真のヒューマニスト」「極限状態に置かれながら、かつ正しい方向性を呈示し続けてくれる存在」と崇めておりました。
来日公演で、「ワルシャワの幻想」を聴いた時、「私の生き方は間違っていなかった」と確信し、「ヒーローズ」（邦題：英雄夢語り！）を聴いて、涙が止まらず、「私達は、「彼ら」を打ちのめすことが出来る、たった一日ならば…！」と繰り返すボウイーの言葉に、どれほど元気づけられたか…当時、追体験でキング牧師を知り、ガンジーを知り、大学受験を迎えてあえて「政治学」を目指そうと思ったのは、このコンサートがあったから、と言っても過言ではありません。確かNHKには、ビデオで音源が残っているはずですが、是非このコンサートはDVDで観たいし、今の若い人達にも接していただきたいと思います。「ロックがロックであった、究極のアルバム」です。絶対に購入して聴いて下さい！

78年のライブ。今回”ステイ”と”ビーマイワイフ”が追加され、曲順も本来の演奏順に並べなおしての再発です。ロウ、ヒーローズと問題作を発表した後のライブなのですが、それらの作品とは180度違った、吹っ切れたような演奏です。ミュージシャンはカルロスアロマー、エイドリアンブリュー、ロジャーパウエルなど、名人クラスが集まっており、申し分のない演奏を聞かせてくれます。ただ、ロウやヒーローズの流れ（イーノやロバートフリップ参加）から期待していると、かなりまったりした感じがして、個人的にはちょっと違うかな、という感じです。逆に言えば誰にでも聴きやすい演奏でもあり、曲目もこの時点までのベスト的なもので、ボウイ入門としてはとってもよいと思います。

ツアーを通してほとんど曲目、曲順が一緒だったので、５曲目にJean Genie、Ziggyの後にSuffragette City、Station to Stationの後にTVC15、アンコールにRebel Rebelが演奏されたはずです。前作にTVC15が入っているので、これは記載漏れと思います。残り３曲がボーナストラックで入っていることを祈ります。でも完全版を待てないので即買いでしょう！映像が発売されることも期待したいです。

David Jones never wanted fame, he loved art and music,he just wanted to escape his environment, he wanted to say something helpful, as ell the best art seemed to, because ho believed that humanity was doomed. So how to make his statement? Religion, politics and to a certain extent literature involved the getting and keeping of power,besides he had no affinity with these, besides he saw them as the cause of humanity's imminent demise. So he turned to art,If you listen to Bowie at the Beeb you will hear the incarnation of his statement, namely Ziggy Stardust, played by a rag bag of bohemian musicians, a probably democratic collective. Ziggy at it's core was a commentary of a man who looked at the world and all it's problems, who then devised a vehicle through which he could express what he saw was wrong,. he then stepped into his creations shoes. Ziggy then went on embody all that his creator thought people needed to see through, uis creation seemed to come from elsewhere, was charismatic and preached catch all quasi religious spaceage message, he believed people would get it but they didn't or didn't want to, partly because it was too good, partly because despite protestations to the contrary people like to be vicariously transfigured by the famous and powerful.,or they saw his fame and hated him for it. David released a singled with some of the music he had composed for the story- it was ignored. Bowie stepped into Ziggy's shoes you know the rest. Or maybe not, we always were told not least by the man himself that he nearly lost himself in his creation I don't believe he did,at other times he hes stated that he was the message not in a messianic sense one of an actor on the silver screen and much as in method acting he would put himself through the ringer to inform his art and create an ongoing commentary on the world in which he was part of. This is evinced on the album Stage you have the song suite from his Ziggy days surrounded by songs detailing the fallout, but these aren't meant to be woe is me statements rather they detail the denger and madness of a man should he be out there who would think to through religion, politics and media's complicity seek to rule or at least be kingmaker. This is always delivered with humour by a man David Jones who ultimately is concered for himself and all of us. Buy this album,

This was my favorite Bowie Live Cd and still is. I love the tracks from the 'Low' period and they sound so much better on here than on the original. They sound fresher and i am happy to say the remaster is great.

The instrumental Eno/Bowie tracks were originally on one side, but this edition states it is the performance in its original track order as performed at the time. Somehow though, there are noticable 'dips' and fades of the audience in between tracks, so it doesnt flow as 1 show. Probably due to how they did it the first time, but that is too bad. Very small and insignificant complaint though.

Other than that i think this new version of the reissued 'Stage' is the best. I owned the original LP (it was out of print in the 80's, shortly after the release)and then the cassette (when re-issued in the 80's), disc and now this new version.

The songs all hold up well, but nothing beats the excellent and vibrant rendition of 'Station to Station' that is on here. Just a great performance, as are the versions of 'Heroes', 'Breaking Glass', 'TVC15' and 'What in The World'.

Not to mention the great, uplifting version of 'Stay' with its funky vibe and great bass playing that adds so much energy. Really great bass playing on this Live disc. Jumps out of the speakers with the remaster. I have really come to appreciate that song on a different level with the version here.

The 'Low' era tracks are great as mentioned previously. Studio albums at the time (mid 70's) had a tendency to sound 'muddy' or dull. These versions hit the mark and the live atmosphere enhances them.. The Ziggy era tracks are good, and sound more clean but less heavy. It works on this CD but i still prefer the Ziggy tracks on The Motion Picture Soundtrack for the movie/concert documentary from the mid 70's. Mick Ronson on guitar provided some great style, riffs and Solo's to those tracks that are hard to beat. But there are great solos on here as well by Adrien Belew.

The bonus tracks are just an added incentive and are great to hear for the first time in 30 years, making this a must have purchase.

So that makes the CD essential for its Nice Packaging, Tracklist in exact order, bonus tracks, a good remix and the version of Station to Staion that just kicks major as*! Great stuff.

Diese Scheibe muss man haben. Im Jungle der diversen Releases könnte diese die beste sein. Song-Auswahl spricht für sich. Aufgenommen während der Heroes-Tour 1978, also zu Davids Berlin-Zeit, sehr hohe Quote an Low-Trax. Abschluss mit grossem Ziggy-Block und zuguterletzt superbe Versionen aus Station2Station die die Studio-Brüder spielend schlagen. Totaler Höhepunkt ist m.E. Station To Station und damit alleine das Geld wert. Die Track-List ist im Vergleich zum Vinyl umgestellt, so das die zahlreichen Instrumentals aus der Low/Heroes-Ära nicht mehr en block zu finden sind. Halte ich so für besser. Die Heroes-Version ist mitreissender als z.B. die aus Glass Spider oder Reality Live DVD. Das Booklet ist State Of The Art angefangen von Papierqualität über Pics, Liner Notes bis hin zu Konzertdaten zum Schwelgen. Am 18.5.78 fand das Spektakel in meiner Heimatstadt Essen (Rock City!) statt aber ich war 8 und zu klein. Heute spielen dort Küblböck und andere Sissis. Der Sound mag manchen klinisch vorkommen, ich finde das Remastering jedoch gigantisch und authentisch. Auch meine Gringos Marcel Kay und Norbert Pee müssen diesen Silberling haben!!! Bowie ist vielleicht der coolste Mensch der Welt. Come back, brother! Danke, Euer Axel.

David Bowie is at peak form and so is his band. I have no doubt that his band circa '75-'78 is one of his two best units ever. Also the setlist and execution: I believe his best ever. Fantastic !!
