Das Thema Nr. 1: natürlich Liebe, was sonst? Allerdings kein softer Balladenschmalz.

Well worth purchasing, if you’re a fan of Soul Music: this album has a balance between what I might term dance tracks and ballads. J.R. Bailey’s style of singing is, some might say, ahead of its time, in delivery; I do wonder if it was inspired by Marvin Gaye’s ‘What’s going on’ (rather than M.G. being inspired by him). To sum up this is a very good album; funny how we discover these works years later, by chance!
I only ordered this CD because I desperately wanted one of the tracks on it. I had been searching for this song (Love, Love, Love) which is track #6 for over 25 years and when I finally found it available on line I was forced to purchase it. I listened to the entire CD and found it was OK. The only other track on the CD I sort of liked alot is #1 called "After Hours". I only rated this CD with 5 stars because of this one song I have been dying to have in my collection. Track #6 was a big hit from my childhood that I truly loved. I'm from the 70's era and I loved this song so much because it just takes me back to my wonderful childhood as a young girl. I just wish I didn't have to spend $46.00 just to retrieve it. I guess in this world you have to pay for what you want. But being the woman I am, I would have paid $100.00 for it because it's just that sentimental and mesmerizing for me so go figure!!!!
So glad this was transferred into CD. I believe the late J.R. Bailey was originally w/the Cadillacs. He is from the doo-wop days. He wrote a lot of wonderful r&b material that other artist recorded and for his self.
A wonderful collection of seet soul music, written, arranged and produced to the highest level and up there with the finest soul abums of all time. If you consider yourself a soul connoisseur then, this CD needs to be in your collection - but then you probably already have it!!. Highly recommended.
