70年代HR ライブの傑作達

UFO｢Stranger in the Night｣、Judas Priest｢In the East｣、Aerosmith｢Live Bootleg｣、AC/DC｢If You Want Blood｣、Free｢Live!｣。次点でScorpions｢Tokyo Tapes｣、Thin Lizzy｢Live And Dangerous｣。ZeppelinとPurpleはドラムソロが退屈で、選外。あくまで個人的な好みですが、そんなとこかな。
曲の良さではUFOが一番でしょう。キャッチーなイントロと分かりやすいメロディ、クリアなギターソロ、実はベースラインもカッコイイ。聴いた回数では一番かも知れない。

UFOの最高傑作であり、ハードロックのライブアルバムの中でもDeep purpleのLive in japanと並ぶ名盤です!
なにかとマイケル=シェンカーのギターの素晴らしさが取りあげられますが、Iron maidenのスティーブ=ハリスもリスペクトしているピート=ウェイのベースもカッコよく、ポール=レイモンドのキーボードも欠かせない要素です。フィル=モグが歌ってこそUFOですし、アンディ=パーカーのドラムがまた絶妙にキマるんですょ〜!
文句なしの名演、一家に一枚。

One of the all time great live albums. To which I know some might quibble over how "live " it actually is. We shall let that stand aside, as regardless, it is an incredible anthology of UFO songs, performed with great energy and enthusiasm . Anyone who enjoys UFO should have this in their collection. Anyone interested in UFO, this would be a great place to start.

I started out just wanting Love To Love on iTunes for 79p but you have to buy the whole album to get that track, so I came over to Amazon and found the whole thing for £3.33 and it arrived in two days.

Now I'm re-listening to stuff that I last heard in the eighties and remembering just how good Michael Schenker was (and still is!). He has so much character in his playing and it comes across in spades on all the tracks on this album.

And this version of Love To Love still makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck.
