This is quite possibly THE BEST album ever, by any artist. The haunting melodies usually associated with latter Buzzcocks songs are excelled by far in this album. Catchy songs with superb backing and guitar riffs. Having been a fan since the time "Ever Fallen in Love....." was first released, and having been to a few gigs, it is my opinion that the Buzzcocks just get better and better with age. With so much experience in music it is all put into their work. It is my honest opinion that this album will appeal not just to Buzzcocks fans, but also to most fans of music, regardless of the typical genre they might follow. The pure aggression of early Buzzcocks is gone, but the up tempo beats are now mixed with a musicality that just catches you, prances around with you, begs you to sing along, and then plonks you on your sofa for more coffee. An absolute musical gem of an album.
Bands reform and inevitably produce dross, but not the Buzzcocks. Surprised that yet again they have released a first rate album that puts most of the young pretenders to shame.
All the albums from 'Trade Test' to 'Flat Pack' are, in my opinion, first rate. I think this collection is brilliant, but possibly not as consistent as 'Buzzcocks'? so four stars.
Cant agree with one reviewer, I think Steve D's contributions are at least as good as Pete's, and a couple of them in my favourite 3 or 4 tracks on the album.
Another terrific album from the Buzzcocks, so thanks guys.
