Evil has nothing to do with Islam or Quran.

Not what I expected; movies are bad in general like music, especially if the Quran is listed in the title of this movie, which is just evil. As usual these things promoted profanity and especially in this referring to the title is in contrast with the content which shows a young adolescent boy who enjoys hookers and has really nothing to do with Islam. It's a waste of money, time, and spirituality.

THE SADDEST FEEL GOOD MOVIE!!
I found this film so heartwarming, yet extremely tragic. Here is a situation where a young boy has just about every
conceivable horrible life event thrown at him, and he manages to find the strength to go on. His Dad departs one
day, leaving a note saying he is not fit to be a father, and the boy must fend for himself. A bit later police show up to inform the young man that his Dad has taken his life, throwing himself in front of a train. Mixed into all this is a
coming of age story where the young man buys the company of female prostitutes in a somewhat clumsy, yet
endearing way. He can't miss them, they parade themselves very near his home. The actor Pierre Boulanger is
brilliant in this role! His facial expressions convey so much emotion words are not always needed. At the same
time Omar Sharif enters into the film as a bodega owner. He has a heart of gold, and even ignores the feeble
shoplifting attempts by the boy, and reaches out to him, perceiving that the kid is in trouble, and needs a father
figure. They are both drawn to one another, the shop keeper is a widower, and needs to find somewhere to nurture another human being. Perhaps he was never a dad. The boy has too much pride to admit he needs anyone, and we see that, when his Mom shows up after deserting the family many years ago, and he pretends
he is not Momo (her son) She appears to accept this but leaves sadly. Somehow he does not put up the same walls with Omar's character. The shopkeeper adopts Momo after many failed attempts with bureaucratic government workers. The shopkeeper buys a bright red sport car, and they go on a road trip, that is quite wonderful back to the roots of Omar's life. They attend religious events and the trip is picturesque but has a sad
ending when Omar's character crashes his car, and his is dying in a nearby town. Momo has left the car prior
due to the shopkeeper's instructions. A man on a bike comes and retrieves him (right after a poignant scene where
local children surround Momo and he photographs them, and then in a sweet gesture gives one the camera. Their
world could easily be from centuries ago, even though we presume it is the 1950s) and takes him to his adoptive
dad. Once again poor Momo is confronted with another unbearable tragic event, he is going to lose his dad. How
much can this kid bear. Fast forward to Momo as a young man who has inherited the shop, and everything has
come full circle when a young man comes in to buy some items, but of course we see him stuff a can in his pocket.
As I said this movie makes you feel so good, while it tears your heart out as the sadness just is overwhelming.
Some other very good actors in here, such as the prostitutes, who despite their occupation feel such empathy for
this poor kid. Their hearts bleed for his obvious pain. Also the actor who played the kids real father (Gilbert Melki)
was brilliant. He is trying in his clumsy way to be a decent father, but he just is overwhelmed by life, and maybe
views himself as a failure both in his career and his personal life, and like the son is too prideful to reach out for
help. The son it turns out is much stronger than his dad, much tougher!!! Wonderful film! A++++++++++++++

The touching story of a relationship developing between two people who are very different and yet very alike. Sensitively and beautifully handled, it is moving one moment and very funny the next moment as a young boy is taught how to cope with life by an older mentor. Two outstanding performances: a career best from Omar Sharif and an amazing debut from Pierre Boulanger. The book of the film complements it perfectly but don't miss this film.
