My one complaint was that this item was advertised as the 'Clear Pink Vinyl' and the version I received was the standard black vinyl.
Apart from that, this is a quality release. A ludicrously heavy, mind-numbingly fuzzed-out freak out of an album. A crazy cacophony of styles ranging from shoe-gaze, to sludge, punk, drone metal and even noise music on one track (the extended version of Pseudo Bread has strong Merzbow inflections in it's second half). The extra LP of 'forbidden' tracks is welcome, with some stellar, charismatic deep cuts (like Heavy Rock Industry and Talisman). The contrast between the skull-crushing heaviness of the instrumentation, and the oddly light, J-pop style vocals on much of the album can take some getting used to, especially if you're used to more extreme vocals, but they really add to the hallucinogenic buzz-bomb of the whole nutty ninety minutes.
Overall, a solid pressing of a wild and experimental classic.

Boris is a Japanese trio named after a Melvins song. ("Boris" is the first track on BULLHEAD from 1991.) But PINK is like a jacked-up Melvins, an amazing blast of diverse rock styles that might as well be an instrumental album since the vocals are in Japanese. There are tiny, impossible to read lyrics in the insert, but based on what little I could decipher I don't think we're missing much...
Moody post-metal, fast hardcore punk, Sabbath-style metal riffs -- all these and more are slammed together for a hyper-drive trip, and it certainly makes great driving music! If you are looking for something to jolt you out of a slump and revive your faith in the healing power of ROCK MUSIC, look no further.
After hearing a couple of boris tracks on Southern Lord compilations I decided I must get one of their albums. Pink is a great place to start if you don't want to get into the out-and-out drone stuff straight away. Whilst much of the music is stoner/doom, there are many other influences at play on various tracks. Nothing Special sounds like Raw Power era Iggy Pop meets MC5 put through a cement mixer. Blackout is reminiscent of Electric Wizard, Psuedo-Bread is a bit like a wierd mix of Motorhead and Jesus & Mary Chain. On the whole this is left field Stoner of the highest calibre and whilst the infuences are there they don't dominate the music...this is Boris!
