First came to my attention when a track from this record was used in Nip/Tuck. If you like beautiful wee melodic numbers and you're looking for something nice to listen to then this is the record for you. Be warned this is not a happy sounding record but really beautifully sad. If you don't want the full album then at least go to itunes and download the track "Brighter Discontent." cos you won't find a more beautiful track than this.
I bought this on the strength of a review on an indie pub, and wasn't that impressed at first. "Brighter Discontent" has a nice chorus hook, but beyond that I thought it was pretty plain stuff. But sometimes of course you need to let music grow on you, and many moons later I can't help notice that not only do I click on this playlist regularly, like weekly, the entire CD is still there, I haven't deleted anything that annoyed me. That's pretty remarkable in itself, damn few CD's live whole on my playlists. I realize there's a story here, and probably that would be more apparent if I didn't have the songs sorted by title, but that doesn't matter much to me. The point is that I like this music a lot, obviously, my Trackman is a ruthless arbiter. The only flaw? It's 10-20 minutes too short.
