『スクリーム』で脚光を浴びたケヴィン・ウィリアムスンのオリジナル・シナリオによるティーンエイジ・ホラー。恐怖描写もさながら犯人は誰かといったミステリ描写にも一応力を入れているが、何よりも一番の魅力はジェニファー・ラブ・ヒューイットをはじめとする青春スターたちの共演だろう。特にJ・L・ヒューイットの可愛らしさとスタイルの良さは特筆もので、その名のとおりラブリーではある。（的田也寸志）

可能であれば、ラストサマー、２、スクリーム、２　などと同じタイミングで観ると
話がこんがらがって良いかもですｗ

当時、若手俳優の出世作として話題にあがりましたが
若きアン・ヘッシュが出演してると知り　急遽、購入鑑賞し直しましたが
謎のかぎ爪男より　彼女の不意の登場シーンの方がドッキリ！してしまいました（笑。

まず、映像が綺麗。撮影もよいのだろうが、ブルーレイの美しさを堪能できます。そして、美しい映像の中で躍動する二人の若手女優。ジェニファー・ラブ・ヒューイットの可愛らしさが疾走し、サラ・ミッシェル・ゲラーの官能的肉体も全開です。いいもん見たなあ、という気分を存分に味わえます。美しい女性が逃げ回る様は、何よりのご馳走です。ごちそうさまでした。

ストーリーは、人を轢いてしまいその死体を海に捨てた4人組が、実は生きてた人物に復讐されるお話。
徐々に謎が明かされ終盤まで誰が犯人か分からないストーリー、出演女優の美貌等、魅力的なところはありますが、
目的は自分を轢いた4人組への復讐のはずなのに、無関係な人間を殺害したり、
都合よく死体が消えたりとストーリー面でご都合要素や気になる部分が結構多く、
犯人の鉤爪の男は、特殊能力を持たない普通の耐久力の人間なので、最後はかなりあっけないです。
このようにストーリー全体は面白いんですが、細かいところはご都合要素が多いので、
細かいところが気になるタイプの方にはおすすめできません。
ただし全体で見れば面白いので、細かいことは気にしない方にはおすすめです。

"I Know What You Did Last Summer" was released October 10, 1997 grossing $125.3 million against a production budget of $17 million. It was directed by Jim Gillespie from a screenplay by Kevin Williamson which was based in the novel of the same name by Lois Duncan. It received mixed reviews from critics. This slasher flick was quickly rushed into production to capitalize on the huge surprise success of "Scream" from 1996 which was also written by Kevin Williamson. Whereas "Scream" had a ton of meta dialogue & humor, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" is much more of a straight ahead slasher flick in comparison. The cast acquit themselves nicely as a whole though they don't have as much to work with as the cast of "Scream" did overall. While it won't win any awards for originality, it is a fun 90's slasher that has aged nicely in my opinion. Fans of the lovely Jennifer Love Hewitt will also find a lot to like here as she is incredibly beautiful and sexy throughout.

Sony rolls out the red carpet for the 25th anniversary of "I Know What You Did Last Summer" by releasing it on 4K UHD blu-ray featuring a new 4K scan of the original camera negative. This new 4K digital intermediate was then graded for both HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Simply put, the film looks amazing on this 4K UHD release leaving the ancient standard definition bluray from 2008 (which is also included in this set rather than a remastered standard blu-ray) in the dust. While both the HDR10 and Dolby Vision encodes look fantastic, should you have a 4K television that supports Dolby Vision, I recommend going that route as the Dolby Vision encode has slightly better color saturation, contrast levels and black levels than the HDR10 version. While the HDR10 version looks great, Dolby Vision takes that superb visual fidelity & kicks it up another notch overall. The bit rate stays in the upper 70's and low 80's for the most part on the 4K UHD release so the 1 hour 41 minute film has ample room to breathe with no compression artifacts to be seen. Fans of the film will be ecstatic at how it looks on this 4K UHD release. I would place a safe bet that this is the best the film has ever looked.

The English audio tracks are presented in both 7.1 Dolby Atmos and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. I found the Dolby Atmos mix to sound full and punchy. Other audio options include Czech 2.0 Dolby Digital, French 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, German 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, Hungarian 2.0 Dolby Digital, Italian 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, Portuguese 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, Spanish 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and Spanish 2.0 Dolby Digital. Subtitles are included for the hearing impaired in a ton of different languages including English.

The new extras on the 4K UHD disc are as follows:
- deleted scenes
- "My Own Favorite Summer" - an interview with director Jim Gillespie
- "He Knows What You Did" - an interview with Muse Watson

Extras on the included standard blu-ray from 2008 are as follows:
- Filmmakers' commentary
- Director's short film: "Joyride" with optional commentary
- "Now I Know What You Did Last Summer" featurette
- Music video: "Hush" performed by Kula Shamer
- theatrical trailer

Sony delivers an incredible looking and sounding 4K UHD blu-ray release for "I Know What You Did Last Summer" for its 25th anniversary. Fans who are 4K UHD blu-ray capable should pick it up without hesitation. Keep in mind though that the included standard blu-ray is not remastered however being the same disc from 2008.

Highly recommended!

Zu dem Film selbst brauch man nichts sagen.
Habe mir den Film als 4k-Edition geholt, da er einer meiner Lieblingsfilme ist.
Bisher ist diese Edition nur in den Staaten erschienen.
ABER: Die 4k-Disk ist auch komplett in deutsch. Das Menü ist deutsch und der Film selbst hat die deutsche Synchro. Alle zusätzlichen Extras sind mit dt. Untertitel. Wer also nicht warten möchte und kein Problem mit einem englischen Cover-text hat. Ist hier richtig.

Für mich hat sich der Kauf als Fan gelohnt!

Psycho (1959) by Robert Bloch and its subsequent adaptation into film by Alfred Hitchcock (1960) is considered to be the first notable work within the slasher sub-genre, although the slasher origins can be dated back to the early nineteenth-century theatre plays that were performed in the Grand Guignol, Paris. This sub-genre is a mixture of the psychological thriller and the splatter film and Psycho has arguably influenced a string of films since, including Black Christmas (1974), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), Halloween (1978), Friday the 13th (1980), A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984), Candyman (1992), Scream (1996), and I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997).

I Know What You Did Last Summer fits neatly into the slasher sub-genre, adopting many of its stereotypical traits: a group or community who are guilty of committing a wrongdoing; the whodunit in which the identity of the killer is unknown (the opposite to Halloween where Michael Myer's identity is known from the outset), usually resulting in a twist ending; the killer stalks and, one-by-one, kills the guilty people; the event that commemorates the past crime; most of the group initially ignore the warning signs; the hero and/or heroine battles the killer; the hero and/or heroine triumph over the killer; and, in those films where there is room for a sequel, the nightmare is never over.

The slasher film suffered a decline in popularity towards the end of the 1980s and it would be Wes Craven - along with screenplay writer Kevin Williamson - who would resurrect the genre with Scream. I Know What You Did Last Summer (also scripted by Williamson) followed the year after and was a huge hit, taking $125.2m at the box office (the initial budget was $17m). The film is (very) loosely based on the suspense novel of the same name by Lois Duncan (1973), although the author was very disappointed with the film. Aside from the slasher aspect, I Know What You Did Last Summer also explores the urban legend folklore tale, The Hook.

This tale, in its original form, tells the story of a young couple who park at Lover's Lane and are listening to the radio. A news bulletin cuts in explaining that a lunatic has escaped from a local mental asylum. He has a hook for a hand. They decide to leave and later find the hook buried in the side of the car. This version was used in the wraparound story in the anthology, Campfire Tales (1997). In I Know What You Did Last Summer, the maniac with a hook for a hand legend is adopted, but with the film's own variation on the legend. Urban Legend (1998), another slasher film, was released the following year, using a number of urban legends as the methods of murder throughout; it was not as successful.

Esta edición en 4k realizada por Sony es prueba de la calidad que pueden mostrar diferentes estudios al remasterizar sus películas en 4k. Un clásico de los 90's al que le han hecho justicia y que brinda una nueva experiencia al verla en la pantalla. Es como si hubiera visto la película por primera vez en tiempos actuales. Gran edición que vale totalmente la pena y más si eres fan de la película. Olvídense por siempre del antiguo Blu-Ray.
