内容紹介

Spearheaded by a melange of vintage keyboard grooves, fronted by a souful crooner and layered with dynamic rhythms, Honeycut joins keyboardist/arranger RV Salters, singer Bart Davenport and drum programmer Tony Sevener. After meeting through mutual friends in the Bay Area in 2003, the three experimented with sounds in Salter's home studio, and soon began laying down tracks that would become their debut album, "The Day I Turned To Glass."

Paris-born RV Salters leads Honeycut's sonic direction. While living in France in the 90s, the keyboard guru dabbled in different art-funk and indie-pop bands, and completed session work for the likes of Femi Kui and DJ Mehdi. In 1999, Salters moved to Berkeley & connected with the Quannum crew. Keyboard work with Blackalicious, Lifesavas and Maroons soon followed. His first solo project, General Eletriks "Cliquety Kliqk" was released on Quannum Projects in 2005.

Bart Davenport provides the emotion-ridden, sound-of-Motown voice for Honeycut; on stage he charms with a Jaggeresque presence. Born and bred in Berkeley, Davneport grew up with a deep love for blues & r 'n' b. A well loved fixture in the Bay Area, Bart fronted The Love Ones and The Kinetics in the 90s. Davenport lent vocals to DJ Greyboy's 2004 cd on Soul Mosaic and has recorded a string of singer/songwriter albums, including 2005's "Maroon Cocoon."

Programmer Tony Sevener augments Honeycut's distinctly modern edge. Originally a drummer from Santa Barbara, Tony joined alt-rock band Summercamp in the mid-90s. In 1997 they released their debut on Maverick, but by the turn of the century Sevener left them to concentrate on drum programming, helping to pioner the use of the MPC as a fully live instrument when he joined Salters for the live incarnation of General Eletriks.

A three-piece modern soul band, Honeycut bridges classic songwriting with live strings and horns and cutting edge production. Dark and moody, with just the right touch of playfulness, Honeycut has crated epic funk that you can dance to.
