Came in minty condition. Thank you, Thanks Shop Japan :) This is one of my favorites in the Puyo Puyo series. It's also the last one to feature Oshare Bones which is unfortunate. I don't speak any amount of Japanese, but luckily, there are translation guides available online if you need one since the game does not have English text available. The game isn't difficult to navigate through once you get used to the menu layouts. There are many different modes to choose from. You can do story mode with any character in which you go through many battles. The ruleset that you play in for each match is determined by the roulette which you press A to stop. It's pretty much random, but you can get lucky and land it where you want it to if you're quick enough. You unlock the various extra rulesets of the game here. You can also do free battles in any ruleset, and you can choose how many CPUs to play against. These are the different rulesets you can play by: Puyo Puyo (original) Puyo Puyo Tsu Fever Endless Fever Giant Puyo Underwater (ugh) Spotlight Excavation Mission Puyo Spinner
Most of the extra rulesets are just gimmick modes, but they can be a fun twist to make things harder. You can also play solo endless modes which are Endless Puyo (perfect for practicing chains), Endless Fever (gain time from successfully making high chains and all-clears), Endless Mission (gain time from completing the given tasks), and Endless Battle (board does not reset when you win matches, so it is an endurance race). There is a training mode that goes over stair stacking, sandwiches, and transitions. You basically have to match the pattern shown on the board. This can be helpful for training you to pay attention to the NEXT window and make decisions based off of what Puyos you have coming. It can also help you wrap your brain around what big chains look like, and gives you practice building them up. Even if you don't read Japanese, this mode is still extremely helpful. Overall, I love this game so much. I'm glad that it's region free so that others outside of Japan can enjoy it without going through the tiring process of bypassing region locks. If you love Puyo Puyo, then this is a must-have.
