I liked everything about this except the fact that they wrote on the side of the case in Japanese language. It's kind of hard because I only understand English writings. I don't understand foreign language of any kind.
The first five albums produced by chic were the best. This one was the fifth, and very different from the ones that preceded it. No "chic strings" on this album, but great vocals, hypnotic melodies & haunting lyrics. Contrast the funky chunky "Burn hard" with a smooth balad like "just out of reach", and contrast the vocals of Alfa & Lucy, with the songs headed by Nile, Bernard & Tony. Wonderful classic Chic... but different to Risque, C'est Chic & Real people, & what a winner! Wonderful songs with strong vocals, this album has been my most played since it was released in 1982. I wore my first copy out! One of the rarer Chic albums, this album deserves the same cult status that this band enjoys!
A very interesting title. This seem to be another attempt of CHIC to escape from the "disco group" tag. As proved by their album "Real People". Previously released. The result of this production is a good mix of pop, jazz and soft rock songs. "Stage Fright" is perhaps the only song that most people will remember. I'm rating this album with five well deserved stars.
