ほとんどがカバー曲ですが、どれも最高にいいです。これまでカバー曲を聴くと、やっぱり原曲の方がいいな･･･って思うことよくあると思うんですけど、彼が歌うとまるで新しい曲のように新鮮だったり、しっくりきてたり。。。今のところ日本ではあまり認知されていないですが、これから絶対流行ると思います。買って損はしませんよ！

ここ2年程、通勤途中やドライブ中等ダントツで
ヘビーローテーションしているお気に入りのアルバムです。

自分も大好きなアメリカの記録的人気番組『アメリカン・アイドル』
シーズン2（2003年）で準優勝に輝いています。

このアルバムでお勧めは3曲目の『Without You』
まぁ有名な曲ですが感情がこもった歌声に、
何回聴いても気持ちが高ぶってしまい、
ドライブ中は必ず毎回熱唱です・・・^^;

まぁ　あなた無では生きられないって・・・
中々日本語では表せないヤネ。
英語だからこその表現なのかね〜

カバーアルバムになっています。

誰でも耳にしたことがあるＢＯＮ ＪＯＶＩやブライアン・アダムス、

リチャード・マークスなどのバラードがクレイの美声により、

さらに感動的に歌いあげられています。

そして、やはりクレイは最高に歌がうまいな〜と

実感させてくれる１枚です！

アメリカのオーディション番組 アメリカン・アイドル（日本でもCSなどで放映）出身のクレイ・エイケン のサードアルバムで、Love songのカバー集です。国民的アイドルを輩出する番組らしく選曲、歌唱力ともに優れた作品です。ハスキーとまではいかないがdryな声質で感情豊に歌い上げます。These Open ArmsはBon joviの日本盤Have A Nice Dayに収録されていた曲です。
しかし、最近はこの手の実力派ハスキー系の男性ボーカルが流行ってますね。

Without You かなりやばいです。メロディーも最高ですし、後半になるにつれてエイケンの声に力が入ってエネルギッシュかつ壮大なバラード(ロックテイストに近い)で良いです。

生来の声の良さと歌の上手さは相変わらず。
が、しかし！
私はこのアルバムで、Clayの大人っぽさとセクシー度が増した感じがしました。特に「Everything I Do (I Do It for You)」ではケルティックなメロディーと、あの吐息のようなハスキー･ヴォイス。
前作のアルバム「Measure of a Man 」ではハキハキした伸びのある声で、比較的元気で明るい歌を気持ち良く歌い上げていた彼ですが、今回のアルバムはバラードが多いせいか「少し変わったかな？」という感想です。色々な歌い方が聴ける一枚で、歌手として「こなれて来た」感じ。
ルックスもシックに大人っぽく、かなり変わって素敵になったし、このアルバムも当然「買い」ですよ。

The challenge undertaking to recreate 10 cover hits and the birth of its 4 + 1 {bonus} originals in A Thousand Different Ways are unimaginable and almost undescribable. The sheer beauty brought forth through the display of vocal range, tone, texture and interpretation embeded within the 14 tracks set a different mood to its listener at each & every turn; and with the accompaniment accorded by its artistic & creative stylings sometimes driven by the simplicity of just piano, violin, guitar & drums and other times orchestrated by lushness & richness with the inclusion of other musical instruments ... this immaculate album of "LOVE" theme truly stood out and defined its own merits.

The one thing which re-enforces my discovery after listening to this album a thousand different ways ... is Clay's capability to steal my attention and how he captures my heart and mind. With a vocal combination which is so pure & crystal clear together with a culmination of his distinctive vocal style, his variable nuances, his usage of tones and phrases, different layers of texture and vocal power ... he has an ability to paint me a picture in each & every song, connecting me to a storybook vision or delivering a message through his music & performance and drawing me to the matrix of its being.

One cannot deny him of his golden voice and his musical instincts.

Clay is truly a distinctive artist to behold - one of a kind to come by ... I say this not just because I'm a fan of his but I sincerely see his potential and he has such immense talents ... "extraordinary" as what Merv Griffins described him once. I know he still has far to go but what he has shown, grown into and accomplished thus far has been immeasurable.

In the end, what matter most ... Clay is happy, satisfied and proud of his artistic effort & creativity upon which this assignment/project is being done & handled. The future will take on its own course as he continues the journey to learn, discover, explore, grow, expand and evolve in his musical directions.

Clay Aiken has come a long way ... a "time traveller" he will be; and we are amongst those appreciative and fortunate millions to have him in our time and for the generation to come.

This CD is a Joy to behold! Clay Aiken uses his Signature voice to infuse new life into a selection of 10 popular classic and timeless love songs. He also adds 4 new soon to be classic originals. I must admit that I was concerned with the choice to feature mostly cover songs on this album. However, being a fan, I have come to recognize his uncanny ability to take a previously recorded song and totally make it his own. He doesn't disappoint with this album and in many ways far exceeds any preconceived expectations. I especially love to hear Clay belt out a song and blow the roof off with his powerful vocals. On this album he does that with songs such as "Without You" and "Open Arms", but we also see a much softer side with some of the slower ballads such as "Sorry Seems to be The Hardest Word", and "Everything I Have". I was impressed with his vocal contol and the gorgeous quality of his voice showing me that softer is not necessarily less impacting. In my opinion he embraces different styles and intensities appealing to every music lover. He has the upbeat with the quiet and reserved and pulls it off flawlessly! Cudos to Clive Davis and Executive Producer Jaymes Foster Levy for doing an exceptional job of presenting Clay. The arrangements are outstanding and beautifully done. And best of all it is "Family Friendly".
