DVDにあるマシンヘッド・ライヴ1972/73のデンマークでのコンサート音源です。

CD化されるにあたり、最新リマスターでも施されてるのかと思ったのですが、DVDのまんまです。

あれでもかなり音を磨いて聞けるようにしたのでしょうが、全く同じものを出すとは…。

DVDを持っている方は特別買う必要はないと思います。

持っていない方も、これを買うよりDVDをお薦めします。輸入盤だとこれ買うより安いですし。

CDを買う利点はと言うと、映像がないから「リッチーが映らない〜!!」などとイライラすることがないと言うとこでしょうか（笑）

内容ですが、黄金期パープルなので悪いはずもなく。最初は大人しい印象ですが、途中からノってきて素晴らしい演奏を聴かせてくれます。

Recorded in the earliest stages of the Machine Head tour at KB Hallen in Copenhagen, "Live In Denmark 1972" finds the MKII version of Deep Purple at their incendiary best. While not as polished as the "Made In Japan" performances, this early show smokes right from the pedal to the metal opening of Highway Star through to closing number Black Night. While raw, the sound is far superior to bootleg quality as the show was originally recorded for a radio broadcast and film. The master used for this CD is from the original mono broadcast mix.
Ian Paice's drums really come through more than on "Made In Japan". Ditto Ian Gillan's vocals. And there's plenty of Richie Blackmore pyrotechnics, especially on Space Truckin' where he absolutely trashes his strat. This 2 CD set is a must for any true Deep Purple fan as it offers a great listen to the embryonic stages of the tour with a quite different set list from later dates...No Smoke On The Water but a killer cover of Little Richard's Lucille. This show is also available on the DVD, "Live In Concert '72/'73".

Great CD! I've been listening to it for the last few months off and on and keep coming back to it. Yes, I am a Purple fan. So will most who purchase this. It is taken off the DVD remixed etc. Sounds amazing. They play so damn good. The video is also great. Can't recommend it more. There isn't that much early Mark II out there. Gillan and Blackmore are in top form. Everyone is in top form. Of course it's not as good as Made in Japan but what is? That said it is one of the top 5 live DP albums. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this CD.

Una versione speciale di Child in Time con un'ottima melodia realizzata da Lord con la sua tastiera in modalità "organo". Ottime le interpretrazioni anche dei restanti brani. L'unico appunto nella qualità audio dove alle volte il livello sonoro dei singoli strumenti/vocale non è perfettamente bilanciato ma prevale uno sull'altro (come voce di Gillan su altri strumenti).

i can't say how much i love this particular deep purple concert, this one had it all: songs from the first 3 albums by the mark 2 lineup but also there are blues and rock 'n' roll numbers included as well. also, you are listening to the one and only lineup that really brought the music to life. after ian gillan and roger clover had left the band, the remaining years were never quite the same again.
the sound on this concert has never sounded better, all the songs sound crystal clear so top marks for that.
there are many highlights: "the mule" is the perfect example of drummer ian paice's ability as he produces a stunning display throughout. "strange kind of woman" is a raw, hard-driven number which i have always considered to be far more effective when played live. other classics include "black night," "child in time"(always a powerful song in concert), "highway star"(this gets the concert off to a great start) and also the rock 'n' roller "lucille"(a good homage to little richard). the only thing i found disappointing, was the song "space trucking" which at 21 minutes or so, is rather too long as the song loses its way slightly. however, that is a mere quibble.
what astounds me is that this concert is the only one in existence from the mark 2 lineup in the television archives that is completely unedited. that disappoints me more than anything.
buy this concert, sit back, relax and enjoy over 90 minutes worth of hard-driving, hand-banging rock music from one of the world's finest. you will not be disappointed!
