このリマスターCD買いました。しかも廉価ときたもんだ★今から約10年前、水戸のレコード屋で、新品未開封のアメリカ盤を発見、約4，000円の値がついていたので、相当悩んだが、ゲット★MDに録音して聴いていた。その後、CDレコーダーを購入、損傷を防ぐため、CD-Rにアナログ盤を録音し、練習などに使用していた。軽音楽風のモンド（洒落た）ラテン、ボッサ風アレンジ(＊ブーガルー）がかっこいい、リチャード・エヴァンス楽団との共演。スカっとしたパーカス音に、聴き手をノリノリにさせるラムゼイ・ルイスのピアノ。土曜の昼下がりに、ビール飲みながら聴くと最高ですよ★

＊ブーガルー（Boogaloo, Bugalu）とは、1965年〜1970年あたりに、ニューヨークで流行したラテン音楽の一種。リズム・アンド・ブルース、ソウル、ロックンロールなどの米国のポップミュージックとキューバ〜カリブ系のラテン音楽が混合されたサウンドが特徴。

This has got to be my favourite Ramsey Lewis album of all time and he made many great albums.
I first bought this album on vinyl when I was a young man in my mid teens in 1967 and I thought it was wonderful.This was a totally new sound for Ramsey Lewis as most of his previously recorded work was of "live" jazz club type perfomances. Now the trio were accompanied by a huge orchestra with brass,strings and wonderful Latin percussion much in the style of the great Ray Barretto. Once again as with the "Wade In The Water" album, the trio was accompanied by the brilliant conductor/arranger Richard Evans who did all the wonderful orchestrations and arrangements for Goin' Latin. This album has a totally different sound than any other of Ramsey Lewis' recordings.The opening number "Hey,Mrs Jones" is simply fabulous followed by a really beautifully stunning arrangement and performance of the lilting "Summer Samba".
Every track is brilliantly arranged and performed and the Latin rhythms are a very refreshing change to what one would normally expect for a jazz-funk-soul type album.
If you want to hear funk - and I mean "real Latin- Funk" then how does "Function At The Junction" grab you?
This is possibly the most powerful track on the album and is worth the price of the CD itself. This is a superb rendition of the composition by Long,Holland,Dozier of Motown fame - what a fabulous arrangement this is and Ramsey and the guys give it there all.There are some beautifully tender moments of playing in the stunning performance of "Free Again" and some great changes in timing right at the end. The flugal horn player on this track although not credited in the liner notes is outstanding.
This album is Latin Soul at it's very best.
Marvellous arrangements- Wonderful performances.

This CD will get you into a summer party swing. well worth the purchase. So glad I tuned into the Cheltenham Jazz weekender and listened to Jamie Cullum who played a track from this CD!
