The buzz on this extraordinary artist began when as a teenager she was discovered by entrepreneur Chris Nathanial while developing and recruiting new R&B acts through advertising on Choice FM. Singer/songwriter Ebony Alleyne so impressed Nathanial that he took her to Sony BMG where she cut a number of songs pressed as limited edition promotional and now highly sought after 7" singles. Her style combines 60 s and 70 s music values in terms of lyrics, melody and sound with a classic soul voice, which while some have compared to artists like Dionne Warwick, has powerful qualities and a personality of it's own. Alleyne is fiercely independent and ultimate decided to complete this album on her own terms. Earlier this year she completed the album, "Never Look Back" with producers Levine/Scott and made a video to "You Caught Me Off Guard".

動画で見てもとても可愛らしい彼女。
そのさわやかでガーリーな雰囲気にピッタリな曲ばかりです。
コリーヌ・ベイリー・レイも良く聴きますが、
どちらかと言えば私はエボニーの方が好きです。
ちょっと懐かしい曲調のものもありホッとできる
素敵な時間を演出してくれますよ。
二枚目を心待ちにしているのですが…

特に大好きなのは2曲目のSecond Lookです。

どこか懐かしい曲が続きます。ずっと聞いていたいと思わせ聴き飽きることがありません。

メロディを大事に唄う彼女の声にやられっぱなし、何度も繰り返している自分がいます。

売りは声質。彼女の声を大事にするための曲が集められています。

高音は優しく、コーラスワークは特に懐かしさを感じさせるオールディーズの装いも。
低音部こそ彼女の真骨頂、安心感のある温かみを感じさせてくれます。

癒しの一枚、珠玉の一枚、おすすめです。
早く次のアルバムを。

If you haven't heard of Ebony Alleyne before, you wouldn't be the first! I wouldn't have known about her either if I hadn't caught a few of her music videos online. For starters, this amazing talent from the UK is reminiscent of another era in music, when people actually SANG instead of screaming! Alleyne is comparable to some of the great, smooth-sounding divas of the 1960s. This album showcases a great cross-section of sounds. For starters, "You Caught Me Off Guard" is techno-tinged, while "Second Look" and "Walk Away and Never Look Back" have more of a Burt Bacharach sound, while, my "My Man" has a big band feel. This young woman is extraordinary. I certainly hope that she gets more attention in the United States. We have been drawn to several divas from the UK, this year [2007] and it would be a shame to overlook this beautiful singer. If you can imagine, it took her almost six years to even get a record contract. I am so glad that she found someone who recognized her abilities and got her music out there. Wonderful!!!

Ian Levine Has Crafted A Glorious Sounding Album That Has A Terrific Retro Feel But Sounds Authentic And As Ian Say...The Real McCoy!! Every Track Is A Hightlight(No Skipping A Song On This One) And They Get Better With Each Listen!!!! And If You Find This Album As Wonderful As I Did, Do Yourself A Favor And Pick Up Ian Levine's "disco2008", "northern soul 2007" & "Yesterday & Tomorrow: The Ian Levine Songbook"!! I Can Say The First Two Are Fabulous And From What I Had Heard Off The "Yesterday..." Cd It Is Fantstic Too!!!
