シリアスなインストからの「The Song Of Earth〜Cry Of A Restless Soul」は

If you like High Level Power Metal, this is the best there is. Lyrically and musically. Too bad the singer left the band, they seem to still exist but no news for new singer / material / reunion / shows. Heiman and the guys needs to come back together and continue this wonderfull thing they created.

This 2012 Reissue is Defective - Get 2003 original
The 2012 END RECORDS reissue has a glitch in the epic HIGHLANDER song - I have bought CDs from two different sites and both have the same problem.
I've tried contacting END Records and they are silent on the issue.
This is exceedingly depressing, as it is the best song on this magnificent album. Daniel Heiman is the new metal god. He's got one of the best heavy metal voices ever, and hits the sickest, clearest, most piercing high notes you're ever going to hear. Most hard core metal fans have heard of MIDNIGHT and his legendary work with Crimson Glory, well, Daniel Heiman is simply better than him. He absolutely owns notes that Midnight managed to hit, but there's a difference to the connoisseur of metal vocals.
I have not attempted to get the mp3 here of "Highlander", and I am unsure if that track has a glitch in it. CDs are my thing, I want full quality and permanent copy.
But, there is hope.
After some hunting I have obtained a copy of the 2003 original release, on KOCH record label. It is flawless, in fact, superior in sound quality, even the decal/inking on the CD disk itself is superior in the original version to this sadly shoddy END re-release.
The 2012 END reissue is to be avoided if you can.
I've returned the flawed copies and asked Amazon to quit selling this one, it obviously has a mistake in the master burn copy.
As for the album itself - gets better everytime you listen to it.
Lyrically the content is much more personal struggles, relationships, things that are far removed from wizards and elves, orcs and the high fantasy content of much eurometal.
This different (and very well written) approach to more of a personal kind of Eurometal makes "A Flame to the Ground Beneath" even more special.
The track "Lost in the Depths of Me" could have been the title of the album, though obviously the best song on the album, "Highlander", is certainly about the classic movie, and fantastic enough by any stretch of the imagination.
I find "Think Not Forever" to be the most together and concise (and one of the most rocking) tracks on the album. I would tend to play that song first for my friends to introduce them to Daniel Heiman and Lost Horizon, though you'll simply have to play them Highlander, or you have committed a serious metal sin.
"Again the Fire Will Burn" actually has a video out on youtube, though it is low quality, it's interesting.
Daniel Heiman's mournful wail near the end of "Cry of A Restless Soul" is as good as anything Rob Halford ever did... bold statement, but I think you will agree.
And of course, the high note around the 7:20 mark of "Highlander" is unique - something few men on earth could do - this is Daniel's "take that!" moment, that really makes him stand out in the crowd.
His final wails to close the song are the stuff of legend, you will find it all over youtube, and those wails are actually more famous than the song, the band, it is its own meme.
You won't regret buying this album for a minute.
And the good news is that the sequel, "Awaken the World", is about as good, and far better recorded, with better guitar riffing.
So once you've digested this beauty, another gem awaits you.

Album is great, good sound and epic riffs. For some reason I have some strange audio glitch at 0:55 into Highlander (The One). I don't know if I got a bad print or if they are all like that.
