I haven't even received my keyboard yet and have been using a USB/WIRELESS Logitech combo. I have the magic trackpad but have been waiting for the APPLE keyboard to arrive to use them together.

Here's my gripe about reviewers giving this a bad rating... If it works well with your MAC then you should say so. I've used these keyboards before and have had MAC's for well over 10 years now. Their key system has mostly remained the same. I hear about these mysterious missing keys and can only think that you are clearly new to MAC. I think you'd prefer to see a windows button on your keyboard and wonder why you even came to MAC in the first place.

DELETE KEY... COMMAND + DELETE = Delete File. If you could just hit a delete button and phoom your file is gone then it's gone... a two key delete system ensures that you are definitely trying to delete something... I like that... if you don't then that's your problem. A windows geared keyboard is going to require WINDOWS BUTTON + BACKSPACE anyways...

The arrow buttons? Really? If you're working with spreadsheets then go back to windows... MACs are fine art machines... not calculators (although they also have that capability). Do yourself a favor... buy the magic trackpad... you'll quickly be wondering why you were so worried about arrow buttons in the first place.

If you're new to MAC I'm not going to tell you that you have no business using one... I prefer it to windows or linux or anything else and hope that more people discover the pleasure of using them. One thing I recommend and did when I got my first MAC that proved most useful, is learning their QUICK KEY SYSTEM... There are combinations of keys to get things done very quickly and these combinations of keys become a second language for your fingers. You can find all sorts of tutorials on the internet if you just spend ten minutes you can probably find a quick list to print up and keep at your desk until you memorize them.

GOOGLE AND YOUTUBE ARE YOUR FRIENDS IN THIS LEARNING PROCESS! There are plenty of people out there that are simply inclined to help others and spend their spare time trying to do so. Those two places are where you'll definitely encounter these tremendous people. Another place should be in the review system but there are several bugs that need to be worked out pertaining to bad reviewers.

That said, this is a great keyboard. Compact, functional and pairs well with your MAC. No lag in your key strokes and looks pretty. If you're used to windows and are stubborn then get a windows based computer with a windows keyboard, unless you're prepared to learn to integrate with the wonderful world of MAC.

This is a great keyboard and I have to say that it has recieved its fair share of use. I bought it to pair with my MacBook pro because the edge on it is somewhat pointed and uncomfortable (I have to deal with it all day being class for Law School). It does what it is supposed to and has had no problems (used now for 2 months):

Pros:
-Great battery life (as of the typing of this, the keyboard is at 75% life after two months of use at about 8 hours a day)
-Looks great
-Connection is great (Note should be made that it is used on a MacBook Pro so I have yet to use it on my Windows PC bluetooth)
-Set up was easy (again it is on a Apple so the pairing is very simple with nothing to download)
-Very Responsive (very little lag except when it is used after some time off, but expected b/c it will shut off to conserve power)

Cons:
-The low profile is somewhat difficult to get use to (the space bar is nearly level with the surface you are typing on)
-White Keys begin to show dirt very easily (can be cleaned using water or rubbing alcohol)

Final note that I must say is that there are a lot gripes online due to the lack of the number pad, which is true but one knows that from the start from the picture. If you are buying this for strictly typing purposes, that is what it is for (minimalist), if you need a key pad or have difficulty typing on a low profile, then look for another bluetooth keyboard.

5つ星のうち5.0 Best keyboard I've owned

I've searched for a long time to find a good keyboard. I've purchased expensive keyboards from IBM, Microsoft, Apple, Logitech, as well as some lesser-known brands. Usually they've been USB since I've been a little skeptical of bluetooth. Always I've managed to get by with what I purchased, but I've never found the right combination of features and ergonomics.

The new Apple Bluetooth Keyboard is by far the best keyboard I've owned. After using one for several months, I've purchased a second to use at the office.

1) The ergonomics are great. It has a very low profile for a straighter wrist angle. The lack of a numeric keypad, while a small liability, actually increases the ergonomics of the keyboard by making it easier and more natural to center the keyboard in front of you. As a software developer I find that I don't miss the keypad much, although your mileage may vary. And while nearly all of my previous keyboards have been split keyboards for ergonomic reasons, I've found that I haven't missed the split at all on this keyboard.

2) The bluetooth connection is very reliable. Just make sure you update your keyboards firmware via Apple Updates. The older firmware revision suffered from the occasional duplicate stroke.

3) Media keys are important to me, and these are well thought-out and consistent with those on the Macbook (and presumably Macbook Pro). They make reaching for the right key natural regardless of whether you're using the bluetooth or laptop keyboard.

4) Cleaning is ridiculously easy. Just wipe it down with a sanitary wipe after you push the power button. It's amazing how dirty the other kids' keyboards look around the office. No matter how hard you try, you just can't ever get the crud out of those things.

Overall, I can't think of anything negative to say about the thing. It looks good, feels natural, works great, and is super easy to clean. Oh, and regular or rechargeable batteries seem to last for several months with extensive use. Nice one, Apple.

Apple Wireless Keyboard Kit

A big disappointment. First, the keyboard will only work with one computer at a time. Nor does Mac make drivers for a PC, and Microsoft does not make a driver for this keyboard. I was informally told that Microsoft's generic bluetooth keyboard drivers will work with Windows XP2d and up. But my PC's OS was older. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't bother to spell out their product's limitation until after you've bought it; instead they concentrate on hype and pretty pictures. Apple has spent it's time and engineering expertise on looks instead of utility. Consequently, I was conned into the purchase of a beautiful, yet useless paper weight when what I wanted was a just a simple keyboard to use with both a Mac and a PC.
