Bottom line, this is a great rock album that well reflects both the confluence of direction and the power of stripped down simplicity that marked the best of the early 80's. There's really no reason that this group couldn't have gained stronger than regional status, given that there is not a bad track on this disc; the music has drive, substance and style. Maybe they simply lacked that one magically infectious MTV worthy hit to cull the attention they deserved. Too bad, cause this stuff has character and is pretty damn entertaining. Strongly recommended for this year's back to school soundtrack.
First of all, I would wholeheartedly agree with M. Rosen; if nothing else, this CD is worth purchasing for the song "Walk By Your House," simply one of the greatest songs of the 1980s. Really. It's that great, that special. And the rest of this album? Oh boy, great stuff again! Finally, after all these years, we are treated to the classic "Fields" album on CD, along with the "Aqua Marine" EP and bonus tracks. A real goldmine of 80s treasures on here. The Individuals, led by the mighty Glenn Morrow, had tons of great songs: "My Three Sons (revolve around the earth)" ... "Dancing With My Eighty Wives" (a remix of that tune is also included here) ... "Walk By Your House" ... "Leap Of Faith" ... "Johnny's In the Mines" and more. The Individuals remain a woefully neglected band of that magical era. But what did they sound like? Think the dBs mixed with Television. Inventive, creative guitar rock. Really, this is top tier stuff. And this music still sounds invigorating 30 years later. Get it!
