　たまたま彼らのライブを見る機会があり、その作品とライブパフォーマンスの衝撃が忘れられず、これともう一枚の彼らの作品 "kidnie"　を購入しました。
　今まで私は「インスト＝BGM(何気に後ろに流れている、気持ちを平穏に保つための生活音
）」と思っていました。音楽の造詣が浅い私にとってヴォーカルがない曲は個性が分かりにくい為、真剣に聴き入ったことはほとんどありません。でもこの作品は、独特のリズム取りに心も体も動きだし、それぞれの楽器の音の出し方やメロディに聴き耳を立ててしまいます。インストの魅力を教えてくれた作品でした。
　縦ノリのインストに興味がある人、バンド演奏上達の壁にぶち当たっている人、ヴォーカルの存在がウザいと思っている人（笑）、一度聴いてみると面白いかと思います。

ライブで初めてのご対面です。ボーカル無しのバンドと知って興味持ちました。歌詞がないのでノリが悪くなるとか考えたけど、自然に体がのってきます。歌詞がなくても伝わるものってあるんですね。かっこ良くて即購入です。ただCDの音源がスタジオで録音されてるものなので、ライブで感じたかっこ良さが伝わりにくい気が…。そういう意味で☆4つです。興味ある人はライブで聞くのもお勧めです

Not to be confused with Muddy World, mudy on the sakuban recorded a strange and almost indecisive EP with VOI. mudy is among the more eclectic of Japan’s many instrumental math rock groups, and in that eclecticism, they shift not only time and rhythm within a composition, but style and mood. Even the strangest groups within the genre tend to coalesce around a specific sound, whether that sound comes from unique instrumentation— such as JYOCHO’s incorporation of the flute, or mouse on the keys and the centering of the keyboard— or a specific stylistic innovation, like jizue’s use of fusion improvisation. Groups like toe and LITE distilled and then experimented with the core sounds, but within any specific composition, one gets a specific set of coherent ideas. mudy on the sakuban is throwing that away on VOI. Apropos of the name, and as on pavilion, there is an aesthetic similarity to Muddy World, yet the aesthetic just keeps shifting. Sometimes hard rock in the tradition of Happy Family, sometimes more psychedelic, sometimes jazzy, and all of those shifts along with the angularity and time shifts of the math rock genre. It is as though mudy on the sakuban cannot decide what they want to play, yet there is enough semblance of intentionality that this would not be a likely explanation. Rather, the all too brief EP simply comes across as one surprise after another, harder than most other bands in the style, with enough jazzy compositional tricks to keep the music theorists happy, and gloriously unpredictable. In a genre that can be as prone to monotony as any other, that counts for a lot.
