It's Allright With Meも嬉しい演奏。

CD Review Blue Note
The sound quality on this recording is superb. The recording notes state “ no multitrack recording was used and consequently no mixing was required. Therefore this CD was made by transferring the one step analogue master to digital” boy does that show in the sound quality!
The stunning sound quality of this recording is clear and a result of what is almost a direct cut recording. Other than vinyl or tape this is about as close as you are going to get to being in the studio with the musicians.
I have not set out to write reviews of the music content as “beauty is in the ears of the listener”. These reviews are about the quality (or not) of the recorded sound. To read about how the reviews are done please see my profile.
• Clarity - Excellent
• Channel separation – very good
• Channel balance – very good each instrument and musician can be clearly identified and their position located
• Sound Stage – excellent this recording is crystal clear and as such the sound stage is both wide and deep, enabling the positions of the musicians to be clearly located
• Distortion – non audible
• Compression – non audible – excellent dynamic and frequency range. This recording is so sparse that there is nowhere to hide
• Atmosphere – very gentle and relaxed but not melancholic rather languid and thoughtful. This is not a high energy recording but one which is both gentle and relaxed
• Bass – low frequencies - the double base sound is exceptional. The tone of the wood is clearly audible as is the string resonance. Occasionally the fingering is audible but the bass tone is deep but measured. The drums have an excellent tone. The snare drum has a true to life “rattle” and whilst the cymbals lack a little shimmer they are also not overly bright. The killer is that you can occasionally clearly hear the wooden drumstick on the snare, this recording is that good.
• Treble – high frequencies – the guitar has a crisp clean sound so associated with the period. It is sparse and has good carry but only reasonable sustain. The saxophone is warm and mellow with a delicate breathy quality audible on occasion, it is not however forced. The piano is used sparingly but has a very clean sound. There is a huge sense of space and openness.
• Vocals
As a general rule of thumb recordings from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s are nearly always better on the original vinyl. Remasters often fail to please as it’s just not possible to make a silk purse from a sows ear, i.e. the original recording lacks the necessary detail to be processed digitally and show an audible improvement. Indeed such processing can make the sound worse.
Modern recordings which have been processed digitally from start to finish can be as good as vinyl. CD’s are often unfairly criticised for being poor quality. This is not the case, it is the original recording or the process which is to blame. Modern “remasters” can both enhance and degrade a recording. The statement GIGO (Garbage In Garbage Out) is the limiting factor. Ignore this at your cost.

Underrated Jazz Gem
2019年11月20日にインドでレビュー済みAmazonで購入
Blue and Sentimental is the most exquisitely perfected Ike Quebec album ever. Quebec was a master of mood and atmosphere, and the well-paced solos here are smoky, late-night magic with the greatest consistency of tone. Part of the reason is that his caressing tenor sound is given a sparer backing than usual, with no pianist among the quartet. Two of assemble partners of this classic jazz album belonged to Miles Davis loyalists: bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Philly Joe Jones. And this is equally the album of guitarist Grant Green. It's no surprise that Green solos have tremendous taste and elegance! Can't get over this vinyl, one of underrated Blue Note classic on vinyl!
Like to Thanks Amazon and Music for All for making this available. However I like to suggest the seller to package vinyl with proper care especially bubble wrap covering the vinyl so that such expensive item won't damage! The vinyl lovers take great care of the vinyl and as a customer one expects that sellers also pay the same respect so the quality.
