商品の説明

Spike Robinson's live recording of ballads recorded at the Bass Clef in London with saxophonist Lee Konitz and bassist Peter Ind. This recording was mastered in the US by the great Kevin Gray. This audiophile quality pressing on virgin vinyl was pressed at Wakefield manufacturing in 1986. There were only 2500 copies pressed and the CD version has been out of print since 1992.

When I received Autumn Nocturne, in record form, my player would not turn. I finally found someone in Westerville, Ohio who converted it to a CD. I gave it to my friend tonight and he just loved it. Took a lot of twists and turns to accomplish, and lots of foot work, but it paid off.

Jackie Cain and Roy Kral were Pioneers as a man and woman singing couple . A chicago twosome from the Charlie Ventura Band that experimented with Jazz Harmonizing.They were actually forerunners of LHR,Mary Kaye Trio and even Manhattan Transfer. Their Arrangements were simple but clever. Their voices were pleasant and appealing. They were a '"Good Sound" in early Jazz Singing .

I was thrilled to find this CD, after loaning my vinyl version many years ago and never getting it back. Jackie & Roy are every bit as refreshing now as they were back in the day, with hip arrangements, subtly funny lyrics, and smoothly blended vocals all their own. I ordered two CDs and received them in just a couple of days, thanks to speedy service by the suppliers.
