#1 "All Along The Watchtower"
When I was a student at UT Austin in the 70s, I wandered in to the Co-op Bookstore one day, and began flipping through the records (this was in the days when music was on vinyl). I came to this album, and felt that this was the reason I had come in to the store, so I bought it. I had never heard of Barbara Keith before. Every song on the album is good, and several are great. Recently, I found myself thinking of favorite music from bygone days, so I ordered this CD. I could not be more pleased. Barbara writes powerful lyrics and great music.
An underheard album by a beautiful singer/songwriter-- it includes Free the People and Detroit or Buffalo, and a cover of All Along the Watchtower. Evidently this album was virtually unobtainable as vinyl, but thanks to the Japanese penchant for re-releasing the best of our work it is now available at a hard to argue price. I played it ten times through, over and over, while I was out driving.
