These boot trees are fantastic. I bought a pretty expensive set of high leg outdoor boots for my wife and I know that footwear should always be well looked after. As tall boots are left without support, the leathers flops to one side and that repreated folding can wear away at the leather. These keep the boots upright and maintain the form of the boot.
The action of the boot trees means they will fit most sizes of boot.
A cheap way of maintaining expensive boots. I would buy again.
Like Goldilocks, I didn't want the cheapest (inflatable) or the most expensive (cedar) boot shapers. These were just right, at a reasonable price and they do a good job keeping my boots in shape. I wanted to try a pair of these before I outfitted all of my boots with shapers. I've made do with tissue paper, which is not a great long term solution. As a grown up, I know better but have just been distracted for a really, really long time. :)
So, how do these work? Awesomely! I have about a half dozen ladies dress boots (not cowboy boots, which another reviewer said needed a stronger spring) and just wanted them to stand up so the leather didn't crack. These do the trick nicely, and for a great price. They fill out the calf area of the boots and are tall enough to stand above the top edge. The only remaining question I have is whether the spring will pass the test of time (e.g., how long will the spring hold up under the tension?). We'll see how I feel in a few years - I'd expect them to last 5-10 years based on the material but we'll see.
These are very sturdy boot trees - just what I was looking for to stop my beautiful fashion boots from flopping around and getting tromped on the floor of my closet. I have an old pair that I bought ages ago, probably for $10 from some anonymous cobbler shop. Now it costs $30 to replace them. But this is what I was looking for - a trigger that makes it easy to insert and remove, and a metal spring in the middle. They're actually a little nicer than the old ones because they're shaped to fit the calf. These are not for stretching the boot, just filling it and stopping it from flopping and creasing.
I read a number of reviews trying to decide which I should buy and these have lived up to expectation. They are sturdy and the handle feels secure. I am hoping they give many years of service, as my other make ones have failed, after a few years. They fit well into the boot and maintain the shape well.
