大容量のウエストバッグを探していましたが、選択肢が少なく
この商品に決めました。両掛けショルダーベルトやレインカバー等
オプション？はチョッと高めかなと思います。
数年使用していますが、ヤレ感もなく大変満足しています。

この商品にはday(12L)とtour(8L)という容量のちがう二種類があります。
はて、どちらがよりベターか。tourの方が80年代から続くオリジナル商品です。
私は両方持っていますが、それぞれに重宝しています。
tourで入りきらないときに、dayがあると便利です。
しかし、dayをずっと使っていると、バック自体がすこし重いです。
やはりtourの方が軽快で、このウエストバックよりすこし大きい程度が
このタイプのバッグとしては完成度が高いようです。
でも、dayもあると、もうすこし入れたいときには便利です。

よって
通勤通学に使いたい人→day
サイクリング、ハイキングに使いたい人→tour
をまず買うとよいと思います。

ヒップバッグでありショルダーバッグであり手提げバッグにもなる。
購入するときは、その中途半端でどっちつかずなデザインに少々躊躇したが
とても使い勝手がよくもうかれこれ4年ほど外出時のメインバッグとなっていた。

平日はA4ファイルにノートPCに着替えに手回り品と両サイドにペットボトル2本。
休日は子供の手荷物を全部詰めることが出来、両手がフリーになり、
更には必要なものをすぐに出し入れが出来る。
自転車時はヒップベルトとコンプレッションベルトで体を固定すると非常に安定し、
背中のクッションもしっかりしていて運転が非常に楽。
多分バイクでのツーリングと相性が合いそうだ。

ということでとても便利なバッグだと思う。

欠点ということでもないが、これだけ荷物がパンパンになるくらい詰め込み
ショルダーバッグとして使っているとベルトが肩に食い込みバッグが非常に重く感じる。

ショルダーベルト幅は約2.5センチ、ショルダーパットもコンパクトで長さ24.5センチ×幅6センチ。

サイズの割りに重すぎず、全体的にいい商品だおおもう。

Lightweight and easy to carry. I use it for carrying my aviation photography gear. Has pockets on outside for water, suntan lotion, gloves, keys or whatever you need to carry. I paired this with the Cube Kit to compartmentalize my gear and it works great. Easily converts from backpack to shoulder bag with ease. Very versatile.

I needed to get a lumbar pack because my neck and shoulders had gotten all out of whack using my regular hiking backpack. This one was the highest rated pack I could find, that still had a decent amount of room. It is able to carry essentially all I need for a full-day hike, including:
2.5 liters of water (one liter is in a pouch attached to the front-right of the belt)
camera (attached to the front-left of the belt)
Emergency first aid kit (bandaids, ointments, pills, water treatment, matches, swiss army knife, string)
small flashlight
GPS (attached to the side of the belt)
lunch + snacks
rain jacket
mini tripod
extra batteries
wallet
water-proof pack cover
gloves
eyeglass case
maps and compass
tissue packs
Extra clothes I have to take along, I have to just wrap around my waist. I would prefer to be able to carry another liter of water, and I have dangled two bottles from the belt, but it wasn't that comfortable. One bottle attached to the belt works just fine.

Here are a list of my pros and cons for the pack.

Pros:
Very comfortable for me! (although my wife says it's not that comfortable for her)
Carries a lot of stuff for a lumbar pack!
Adjustable straps help keep pack tight against body
A good number of pockets, but not too many
Durable. I use it for my off-trail hikes I do almost every weekend, and it's still in great shape after 6 months.
I've got a bit of a belly and love handles, which was akward with my regular backpack because it wouldn't want to ride on my hips, but this lumbar pack rides just fine.
Breathable foam on the back helps keep my back from getting AS wet as it would otherwise.

Cons:
Included shoulder strap is not comfortable to use, but is unnecessary anyway since it rides so well
Not water proof, but it is easy to buy a small water-proof cover for the pack
Side pouches only handle small water bottles, but attaching bottle pouches to the belt works just fine for me.

The minor cons are far outweighed by the pros, which is why I give this great pack 5 stars. It allows me to continue doing my full-day hikes without hurting my neck and shoulders!

this is a great bag. i use it for transporting books and papers to and from the office. anything smaller wouldnt work, and anything bigger would be too cumbersome. it doubles as a good bag to bring on trips. the water bottle holders on either side, and multiple compartments make it perfect for everyday and travel. its durable as well. the shoulder strap takes a little getting used to, but i cant say enough about the bag itself.

I purchased the shoulder straps fro this bag to turn it into a small backpack. In my opinion, if you have this pack loaded up, just using the hip straps is not comfortable. Adding the shoulder straps made it much more so. The uses for this bag are endless. Great for a small carry on under the plane seat and obviously great for your excursions both in the wild and on the streets.
