A dark anime that presents itself as a series of multi-episode vignettes that comes together to tell a story that highlights major events in the life of our protagonist, Claire. It is compelling for the fantasy world that it doesn't hit you over the world with any explanations. It trusts its audience to make the connections, definitely rare in Japanese anime, and it has enough style and even a few twists. It is dark. It has gore. Thankfully it spares us from outright witnessing rape and other such ugliness, it doesn't spare us from the truly reprehensible sides of our natures. It doesn't delve too deeply in our filth, staying faithful to the story it wants to tell. It has a great deal of action, and explores its world from that lens, or switches to a mysterious bent, and tearing out your heart with the occasional glimpse of heart. It's overall a compelling series that is an instant classic. The English voice acting is laughable, the subtitles are ok. The Japanese voice acting, by the nature of the emotionless characters can be a bit monotonous, but it's forgivable because it is these Claymores that find the humanity. I do wish the music wasn't of that "visual K" style, but that's the only complaint I have. Definitely want to pick up the manga and learn more about this world. Highly recommended.

原作を知らずにアニメから見ましたが１話目２話目と話が進むごとにどんどん面白くなっていく感じです。
元々ベルセルクも好きだし魔法無し飛び道具ほぼ無しで剣でガンガンやるタイプの作品が好きみたいです。
作品の感想にはネタバレを多く含むので敢えて書きませんがこの作品を知らない人には是非１度は観てほしいお薦めの作品だと思いますね。

内容、価格等不満はありませんでしたが購入される方に１点だけご注意を１０８０ｐと商品紹介に書いてありますがこれ
１０８０Iですのでそこだけご注意下さい。パッケージ裏面に見るとちゃんとその様に記載されています。再生中のビデオ情報も確認しましたがプログレッシブではなくインターレースと表示されていました。

Un manga très mélancolique avec en premier plan des femmes mi guerriere mi yoma(demon),attention toutefois ce manga est assez violent, la trame est très oppressante avec un sentiment de combat "perdu d'avance" ou rien n'est donné à l'avance distillé d'une histoire très touchante.

Tall, statuesque, half-demon/half-human women are used as devil hunters as it takes one to know one, I guess. What starts off as a promising dark fantasy gets dragged down a star for having an incredibly annoying child side-kick. The second arc involving the back story of the protagonist is excellent (no side-kick), after which we return to the less interesting main story (with the side-kick). But who knows? You might have a higher tolerance for side-characters whose main plot function is to ask annoying questions and get in to trouble so Clare, the protagonist, can rescue him?
Also, the mature story starts to slip into shonen (boys comics) tropes like long discussions about rankings/power levels etc.
It's not all bad; the art is quite nice and the world building is quite interesting. But I find "Claymore" (named after the huge swords the women weild) the most frustrating type of show: full of promise that isn't fulfilled.

Die Geschichte ist fesselnd, die Atmosphäre düster und die Kämpfe sind blutig. Alles in allem also ein wirklich gelungener Anime der seiner Manga-Vorlage (bis auf das Ende...) wirklich gerecht wird. Die musikalische Untermalung ist klasse und passt perfekt zu den einzelnen Szenen. Ein "Klassiker" unter den Animes, meiner Meinung nach ;)
