2010 release, the seventh album from the veteran British Post Punk band. With Soundtrack, the band has created their most consistent album since their 1982 breakthrough album After the Snow. Filled with shadows and light, the album remains fresh and modern while adding a retro flourish to the proceedings. Their classic album After the Snow featured what became a radio/club mega-hit and MTV staple, 'I Melt with You', which was used in the film Valley Girl, in more than one TV advertisement and became the flagship track on the popular Nouvelle Vague covers album.
I don't write long reviews so I'll just start off by saying give this a listen. There are some really great pop songs on here as well as some mildly psychedelic excursions. Robbie Grey's vocals are impressive and the return of Hugh Jones makes for an interesting link to the group's earlier releases. This is undoubtedly the best Modern English album since After the Snow.

I was not sure if this warranted a 3 or 4 star - 3.5 would have been my choice. Some very good tracks, but not quite as exciting or standout as tracks on the After The Snow album. This CD does not display that cheesy '80s sound some of their post After The Snow product has. It's all quite good and could have been released today and not sound out of place.
I was really unsure about this album especially the cover art I don’t like but it’s not to bad there are some good songs on it after listening to it a couple of times it’s really a good album 👍
