　このアルバム2009年に発売したのにレコ－ド店で見かけたことがなく、2015年にようやく入手した。内容はとてもいい。欠点は入手しずらいこと、THE HAUNTED MELODYと演奏内容、演目、共に違いがないこと。見かけたほうを購入する事をお勧めします。STEVE HOWEの演奏はほかと比較してこれらのレコ－ドが一番安定してます。

ギター、オルガン、ドラムス、変則とまでは言わないが、主流ではない編成の
ジャズ・トリオ Steve Howe Trio のセカンドアルバム。

Live 盤 表記が無かった為、Live と知らずに購入した。
すばらしい Live 盤ならそれでよいのだが、この盤の最悪は
曲と曲の間に入る明らかにオーバダブされた、オーディエンスの不自然な歓声、
しかも演奏される楽曲にそぐわない下品なもの、これだけでアルバムの
クォリティは大幅に下がるし、聴く者のテンションも下がる。

ベースが居ない為、必然的にオルガンがベースラインをとっているのだけれども
物足りなさは感じる。やっぱりベースプレヤーは居て欲しい。

Steve のソロはやはり聴き所、Steve ならではのギターは愉しめるが、
ジャズ風のところは元気と色気の無い、ケニー・バレルって感じかな・・・。
プログレ風のところではギターの切れが悪く、当然ラスト曲
Yes の『 Close To The Edge 』 を楽しみにしていたのだけれど
まるで"危機"感が希薄な演奏で終わった。

key奏者 Ross Stanleyのソロも思った以上にフィーチャーされているが
これはなかなか良い。

更に Steve の息子、 Dylan のフィルインするドラムが全編に渡り光っている。

2010年6月30日リリース。音源は2010年のイギリス及びカナダのライヴである。トリオのメンバーは、スティーヴ・ハウ(g)、その息子ディラン・ハウ(ds)←先生はビル・ブラッフォードらしい、ロス・スタンリー(organ)。

曲についても触れていないようなので書き留めておくと、以下のような内容である。

タイトルを見てやはり注目してしまうのは『Close To The Edge』の中の2曲、『Siberian Khatru』と『Close To The Edge』をジャズ・トリオで同演奏するか、だと思う。どちらの曲もジャジーなギター・リフが含まれているのでそれを発展させるのだろう、と予想したがほぼ合っていた。ただし予想以上にぼくには面白い演奏だった。

2010年代になってもギター・サウンドの飽くなき追求を辞めないスティーヴ・ハウのミュージシャン魂を感じるアルバムである。

When I read the opinion " Steve Howe playing jazz?" that makes me wince.
Huh? What have you been listening to after all these years? Steve Howe is a jazz guitarist. I know of no other guitarist who plays so many styles of world class caliber, acoustic and electric styling's of jazz, rock, classical, country and pedal steel (who else plays pedal steel like Steve)? But underneath it all; the notes, the chords, the phrasing, imo are jazz voicing's. Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell, Barney Kessel, Howard Roberts, Joe Pass, Tal Farlow, Chet Atkins, et al to me this is the underlying style that Steve plays.
Listen to his guitar work, solo and with YES, are you saying this is only rock guitar? Straight ahead jazz guitar is all through the YES catalog, it is only natural that Steve play in the classic B3, Drum, Guitar trio format.
Also, the level of musicianship that Steve achieves; the compositions, the arrangements, this is a master class in harmony and song structure.
Steve Howe has virtuosity across the guitar spectrum, a few come close and are technical virtuosos but I cannot think of another guitarist in the rock era that has his versatility.

Travelling est un album qui est loin de ce que nous a habitué Steve Houwe,mème après plusieurs écoute,à part une ou deux reprise de YES il n'y a rien de bien intéressant dans
cet album !!!

This is a fantastic album recorded on the tour for The Haunted Melody album. The Steve Howe Trio is Steve's jazz band which is heavily influenced by Steve's heroes Wes Montgomery and Kenny Burrell. The majority of this album is live versions of songs from the Haunted Melody. I like the live versions better than their studio counterparts for the most part as the seem to flow better. The version of He Ain't Heavy which is unique to this release is well done as well. Dylan Howe is very good on the drums and Hammond organ player Ross Stanley is impressive on organ and bass pedals. I do wish we had a piano sound for a song or two just to vary the color a bit. This is a great release and highly recommended.

This disc is ok but Steve is not a a good choice in this setting. The organ player has a much better feel for the pace, the licks, the chord progressions and nailing the solos, which really surprised me. I was really excited when I spotted this recording, being a Yes fan for 30+ years but also listening extensively to Hammond B3 trios. This venture is not up to par with the likes of Tony Monaco, Jimmy Smith, Deep Blue Organ Trio, Larry Golding etc. If you want to hear old Yes songs in this format, it's mildly interesting. The straight ahead jazz is clumsy at best.
