Alright ill get right to it this is an excellent addition to any collection of a Chimaira fan. This set comes with 2dvds and 1 is a 4 hour documentary broken into 4 parts. Making the Infection(part 1) that is cool you get too see them do the album closer The Heart of it All live in the studio in full. It is awesome. Then part 2 of the documentary is a live set in Dubai where they talk about their fun and they show some extras with fans. Part 3 is a bunch of clips from their Music as a Weapon tour and then part 4 is a 1 hour look at their tour of Europe like DOWN and their Diary of a Mad Band dvd/live cd. But dvd 2 is their christmas 10 show in thei hometown of Cleveland Ohio and that has 17 songs live altho the 3rd disc is the concert on cd live the dvd has an extra song as the concert closer and it's the instrumental from Impossibility of Reason and that is Implements of Destruction that is killer. Plis you get the hour long documentary of the mqking of the Resurrection album(released on a special edition of Resurrection) so if you don't have that you get it here. As well as about 3 bonus hours of extras including oldschool stuff from their Present Darkness EP as well as Pass Out of Existance footage. Tons of videos and pictures and interviews. Then disc 3 is the live concert cd with the whole set from the 2nd dvd minus Implements of Destruction. Seeins how Chimaira are officially retired which is a bummer cuz they are one of my favorite bands to this day. So this is essential. Also look for the dvd The Dehumanizing Process which comes with a reissue of This Present Darkness on bonus cd and a documentary making Impossibility of Reason with an hour concert and all their videos. And on amazon they are a bargain. I got Coming Alive for 5 bux including shipping.Must own for metal or Chimaira fans!

First off, don't let the product info above fool you - there is one audio cd of the live show in here, one dvd of the concert, and another dvd of a documentary about the band. And lots and lots of extra features.
The show is extremely well shot and sounds great. The bass drum sounds a little quiet, but my stereo sucks so it could be me.(also I like a ridiculously loud bass drum) The guitar sound is way fatter and heavier than on any live dvd I've ever seen. I didn't like the setlist when I read it, but in watching the show, it works really well and is very enjoyable.
The documentary dvd is also surprisingly good. This is not your typical rock stars flying around the world in private jets and staying at 5 star hotels, with thousands of fans screaming their name. This band is ordinary guys with day jobs when they aren't touring, struggling to get by. And that makes for a far more entertaining and engaging documentary in my books.
The special feautures are too numerous to list here, but include the making-of Resurrection(which is very much a must-watch) and performance footage from early in their careers.
I think even someone who isn't a fan of Chimaira would be by the end of this package(especially if they start with the making-of Resurrection documentary). There's way too much to take in in just one sitting or even two or three; this package will keep you entertained and give you your Chimaira fix for a long, long time. Definitely something you'll watch more than once as well.

Chimaira. In my opinion one of the hardest working bands in the metal scene today. Constant lineup changes often plague a band's sound and makes for uneven quality album by album. Mark Hunter and Co. never fail to deliver. This DVD is a great look into what it takes to be a successful band not only in the studio but on the road as well. The Chimaira Xmas show in their hometown of Cleveland is absolutely electrifying and the crowd and band are both into it 110%. This DVD/CD is also well worth the price of admission due to the massive amount of backstage/touring footage and interviews with the band members who were in Chimaira for The Infection tour. There is some killer studio footage of the band recording at Spider Studios in Strongsville, OH. I have had the pleasure of visiting this studio with some of my best friends who are also in a metal band and it was really neat to see a national act using the same space. Very cool.

I have all the respect in the world for Chimaira for putting out this DVD/CD combo and any current or potential fan of the band would be a fool not to pick this up, especially for the current asking price. Do yourself a favor and "Come Alive" with Chimaira as they decimate the Cleveland audience and go on the road with them to see what life is really like for a touring band. Pretty interesting stuff here folks!

Simply I enjoy and thank this guys to put all the stuff together in a pack and also respect us changing some content from the previously released material. The documentary is awesome, I liked the part where they are walking in a street from Europe and one guy that passed them turns and scream "Jim LaMarca!" ... it should be awesome to bump with your predilected musicians.
The show is cool but what I really think about the sound is that they filter it sooo damn well that there is parts where you really dont know if you are listening the studio CD or the Live CD, but since the CD is a bonus... all the production in the video is great.

I really would love to see this guys in my country or at least could get a chance to see them anywhere if I go to the states some time... cheers from Guatemala.

Also great price on this, really cheap for what you as a fan can get.

BRAVO to the band!!! Ive followed them for years and I see the growth they have made in the years. These DVD's are PURE GOLD. I cant say enough about it. its so worth your money that you will know in your soul you make a GOOD purchase. As I sat glued watching it I wanted to reach out to the band in a letter and thank them for making this DVD set,I really felt they took me on tour with them as they made it!!! and I feel its a gift to their fans to own them and have them in their living room when they want and definately during times when they are not touring in your area. You can still get a taste of them. This would make the ultimate Gift for someone who likes metal (double base metal). It is worth purchasing.
