Absolutely love this CD! I got my boyfriend hooked on zero7 a few months ago, so I decided to get this for him and its the only CD we listen to on our way to work.
Zero 7 is always on top of my shelf. I play their songs at least 4-5 times a week. Sometimes over and over again, each day. My favourite albums are ' When it falls', 'Simple Things', 'the Garden' in the same order.
This new album is a waste of time (Zero&'s and mine), money and resources. They have repeated the old songs here and some are cut short before they finish on Disc 1. Disc 2 is doesn't take me anywhere. They shouldn't have put out this album. It does not stand for the quality they produced.
I was waiting for a new Zero 7 album for many years, I believe they came across a 'Musician's Block'. I am sure they would've done a really great album if they were patient, put their super energy and made a glorious album, like before.
I had downloaded a couple of Zero7 songs before and admired their music as kind of a "Massive Attack lite" for chilling out, but I'd never bought an album until now. For me, this collection is just what I'm looking for. It features such fine cuts as the supremely dreamy "Destiny," with vocals by Sia. She's someone whose albums I do own, so getting the six songs she sings here is an added bonus. This 'Record' set is also well sequenced in terms of song order, so it makes for a smooth-flowing hour-plus of listening pleasure. Hardcore Z7 fans who own all of their other stuff will undoubtedly find things they wish were on this CD but aren't. I can't comment on that, but I think this collection wasn't really intended for those folks anyway.
