Digitally remastered edition of this 1971 debut from the British Prog Rock band. When the first line-up of Rare Bird folded in early 1971, keyboard player Graham Field formed this outfit with bass player, vocalist and guitarist Alan Barry and King Crimson drummer Andy McCulloch. Although the band failed to emulate the commercial success of Field's previous group, the sole album they recorded was a magnificent example of British Progressive Rock. Much sought after for many years, this official edition has been remastered from the original master tapes and features an essay by Sid Smith and interview with Graham Field. Esoteric. 2010.

To enjoy for real music lovers of Rock music. "A Friend of Mine' their smash hit of the 70's is on this album. Don't be mistaken with the other Fields album. This one is the best and also very rare on the market. Hard to get. Mostly only on Vinyl.
I am one of the few people her in Europe, who knoes this band and their high qualities. It was also a studio band and lasted short.
Advice from me: Buy it!!! Successsssssssssss

It is not often that you find a gem from the 70s that you think worthy of purchasing even though you have never heard of it. This is one. It is wonderful, organ, guitar, drums. A bass playing guitarist singer ( hows that Mr Lake). If you like Sppoky Tooth or Procul Harum you should love this, not that they are copies of them at all. Really good playing, they should have been massive. They also sound a bit like the Humble Pie tracks with Frampton on organ. The singer is more mellow and less bluesy/gruff than Marriot, but give your ears a blast, buy this and see what you have missed for 30 odd years.
Oh and ofcourse as you all know,the main writer and keyboard player in this band was Mr Field, one of the 2 keyboard players in Rare Bird. As he says himself in the sleeve notes...this is Rare Bird 3

Very glad to obtain this rather obscure Prog album by Graham Field of Rare Bird, but Amazon buyers should be aware that this is a CD-R and not the original CD as manufactured by Esoteric!
It is a very nicely done replica - it has the complete original booklet and the CD itself has the picture graphics on the label side.
However, when you flip the CD over to the playing side you can clearly see that this is a CD-R and not a factory pressed Silver CD! I recently purchase a used original Esoteric CD and their is a definite difference when compared to the Amazon CD-R.
Not a bad price from Amazon, but just felt buyers should know what they are getting!

Takes me back to the josh stick era of the 70s when the vinyl version was rarely off my bedroom Dansette turntable. Great to have it available in CD version. The original was one of the few LPs to survive the munch regretted vinyl clear out. "The Eagle" more than any other track in my collection transports me back to the early seventies . If you are a fan of Prog a Rock check this out. Truly wonderful.
