I have spent a lot of money on all types of headphones, from Hi-Fi Man, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Fostex, Shure, and AKG, along with all the amplifiers and Dac's. I recently bought the Stax SRS-002 in ear speakers and the sound was lovely, so natural, only issue was uncomfortable in my ears. So I decided to try the SRS-2170 entry level Stax ear speaker this was a very good move, I am in love with the sound, I now have a good reason to sell all my other headphones and start the upgrade to the better Stax models. The SRS-2170 looks old and plasticky but it's the sound that it reproduces that makes me want to listen to all my music, from jazz, rock, and folk it's like so clear and natural. Of course it doesn't have the deep bass that rumbles but I'm not a bass nut, I love the high end and the sound stage. Makes me wonder how the SR-009's and the SRM-007tA sounds like. Looks like it will be an interesting trip to find out, one that I look forward to.
