If you enjoyed the film or are remotely a GL fan, I would recommend this game. It's fun, harkens back to the good old superhero licensed videogames era. Honestly, a solid 7/10.
Seller : iBhejo, Delivery time : 11 days, Price : 2038, I must say the seller is very good. Imported game runs fine on ps3 (India). A total hacknslash game 😋.
That's the worst aspect of the game: you can't just leap out and start flying. Then, I'd say the game's length comes in as a close second - I finished the game in about five hours. But many short games translate into more of a cinematic feel. Rise of the Manhunters falls somewhere in the middle.
In case you've been living in a cave and ignoring the saturation of the media by all things Green or carrying a Lantern, in Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, you get to play a Green Lantern - one of the intergalactic space cops wielding one of the most powerful weapons in existence. One might infer the principle enemies as Manhunters: a race of robot soldiers created prior to the Green Lanterns and intended to be a police force as well. One thing leads to another and voila! Cosmic danger and fun ensues.
You only need a passive awareness of the Green Lantern comic books to enjoy the game's story, and the story blends into a similar fan fave story, that of the Lost Lanterns. Thought it is similar in only a vague sense of things, fans will feel vindicated when they can see the way some things may fall into place.
The graphics are pretty well done in both game play and cut scenes. The 5.1 track is a bit 'fuller' than a few games I have (and will not name, lest it would begin a flame war). The energy 'construct' system is nothing short of a knock off of the magic system of some previous games (assign attack A to control slot 1, and so on). However, seeing GL swing a giant green fist against his enemies is something I will likely never tire of. Game play is exceedingly easy. Once the player hits a certain level, they gain the ability to recharge the Power Ring whenever they want. It's grossly over powering, like being a Jedi in Star Wars. Nothing can stop him.
Despite the drawbacks, the game is fun. Even with next to nothing in replay value, running around with a Power Ring is great for kicking butt in a sci-fi environment. We get to see Oa, the Zamarian home world, Biot, and then the game concludes back at Oa. The only form of flight allowed is a few moments away from the God of War. And then it feels like the scenes from Force Unleashed/Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions wherein you exercise more of a controlled falling.Such scenes are short with no deviation of flight plan. We see a few other classic characters, and though we don't see them en mass, it's alright. We're used to seeing Hal Jordan/Green Lantern carry all the weight on his shoulders before. This game is like Hal getting punched with his own 'giant green fist' attack - he ends up a little punch-drunk to deliver a top-notch game. But it's fun. And that's what matters most to me.
... I still wish we could fly without the game holding my hand.
