LOVE these gelatos -- the colors are lush and gorgeous. Most importantly, when I mark my paper with them and then add water with my brush to mix, there are no marks left on the paper (as I find with the watercolor crayons). It mixes as much or as little as I want. These gelatos are my current new favorites!

I'll revisit these when more colors are offered. I tried these out on a pastel sketch and they blended well, so I could see using them in a multi-media work someday when they expand the palette; however, the colors are a bit crayon-y for my taste at present. I would give these to kids for now.

The Gelato's give a nice sheer layer of color when I don't want total opaque coverage, and I like to wick the color off the stick with a brush rather than press the stick on paper. Nice color range in these alternates, and it's worth having the complete set (the full box set plus all the alternate shades).
