Barbara Arrowsmith Young is the Director of Arrowsmith School and Arrowsmith Program. She holds both a B.A.Sc. in Child Studies from the University of Guelph, and a Master's degree in School Psychology from the University of Toronto (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education).

　学習障害について、特定の脳の活動野を刺激する訓練が、カナダでは1980年から行われ、しかも実績をあげていたとは、知りませんでした。
　知的障害や発達障害がある人たちの訓練に取り組んでいる同僚たちに読んでもらいたいのですが、私の力では翻訳に時間がかかり、困っています。和訳が早く出版されることを、希望しています。

I have read a lot about brain plasticity, how you can develop new replacement cells in your own brain, which can be seen by a scanner.
We could all do this if we tried. Grow your own new brain cells just by wanting to, practice and repetition.

This is utterly amazing! I found it inspiring and somewhat frustrating that teachers are not jumping on this, learning the skills and using them in the classroom. Having said that, as a retired teacher I know the challenges teachers face every day. The schoolboards need to get behind this - it would benefit every single child. I would like to work on my own deficiencies!
