For My Parents is the new album by Mono, the Japanese quartet who over the course of half a dozen albums in twice as many years has followed their own muse, and in the process have become 'one of the most distinctive bands of the 21st century. ' They are an instrumental rock band whose melodies have grown increasingly lyrical, with increasingly transcendent execution. There is no doubting a Mono song when you hear it, and no denying their uncanny ability to feel perfectly at home in both pristine symphony halls and dirty rock clubs.

Otro discazo de Mono, "Hymn to the Inmortal Wind" parecía insuperable y para mí el nivel lo han superado, cada vez más clásicos y menos rockeros, pero con la melodía por encima de todo. Sólo dos peros, en la canción "Unseen Harbour", para mí el momento cumbre de este disco, aparece un piano que hasta resulta molesto, una cosa muy extraña ¿en qué estaban pensando?, me parece que si hubieran prescindido de él la canción sería todavía mejor (y que conste que me encanta el piano como instrumento). Y dos, y más grave, la versión vinilo se oye regular, escucho mejor el disco en el coche en mp3 que en el tocadiscos y el ampli con la edición doble vinilo en color negro..., si lo llego a saber lo compro en cd que es más barato.

also nein..wirklich..jetzt kritisiert man doch tatsächlich die noiseausbrüche bei mono..ich fasse es nicht..das wäre genauso als wenn man die geige bei my dying bride negativ herausstreichen würde..
hymn to the immortal wind ist ein jahrhundertalbum..fakt...ich denke dies können auch mono nicht toppen..
bei for my parents geht man diesen weg weiter, verbunden mit dem klassikanteil von holy ground..und das ergebnis?
es ist wie zu erwarten gross...einzigartig...nach erst oberflächlicher betrachtung..mal schauen, ob es an hymn.. noch kratzt...
ich denke die mono fans haben das album eh schon zu hause stehen..für mich sind mono mittlerweile die besseren sigur ros..
man wirklich...kritik an den noiseausbrüchen bei mono..unfassbar...

Très bel album des japonais de Mono. Très contemplatif, cinématographique à souhait avec ces envolées de cordes désormais chères au groupe. Les thèmes s'étirent sur de longues minutes pour en donner toutes les saveurs et émotions souhaitées pour l'auditeur, cet album est d'une beauté rare. Leur meilleur album ? Assurément !
La version vinyle est magnifique, double vinyl avec coupon mp3.
