I like this music simply because it's some of the best electronic music I have ever heard. Hideki Naganuma is a great artist and I have talked with him, he is very humble man you should check out all his music work it's worth your time. The production is superb and on point it has a OK IM GONNA SAY THIS FIRST SINCE NO ONE HAS STATED IT YET. THE CD COMES WITH MORE THAN JUST THE TRACKS LISTED, THERE ARE ALSO SAMPLES OF THE CHARTERS VOICES, CERTAIN LOOPS, AND EVEN HIDEKI NAGANUMA'S PERSONAL SAMPLES. THERE IS ALSO WALL PAPERS AND CALENDARS FOR 2001. THESE EXTRAS REALLY MAKE IT WORTH IT FOR A FAN BOY OF THE GAME.
Jet grind radio has a sense of flow to it that keeps your ears wanting more. The style is very happy unlike most electronic music that seems deep and depressing. This is the finest in Japanese synth-pop.
The music is very similar to ssx tricky sound track as well as a few fantastic plastic machine's tracks. Been playing the game since it has been out, I currently use the music to DJ with at bars and clubs, people are like what is that music. Then the next time they show up its like JET SET RADIO!!!!!
This is a great ost and is well made and produced. The cd seemed to lack in content but made up for it with the overall production value of the songs. This is a hard album to find and I'm glad they rereleased it with music from both games.
It is pretty much a given that anyone reading this review will already know what to expect from this CD. You've doubtless played Jet Set Radio, and enjoyed the perky, fun soundtrack that matches the action of the game perfectly. All that remains, then, is to point out exactly what you are getting for your hard-earned cash.
Firstly, there are a couple of tracks conspicuous in their absence. Jurassic 5's excellent 'Improvise' and Guitar Vader's 'Magical Girl' do not make an appearance here. Most of the tunes are from Hideki Naganuma, with a few others offering their wares alongside.
The omission of these two tracks is a shame, but there are still gems in abundance. 'Humming The Bassline' is funky as you like, with a hook that sticks in your head for long after; 'Sweet Soul Brother' is every bit as good as you remember; and who could forget the goth disco splendour of 'Grace And Glory'? Add on a nifty medley (as per the end of the game, for those of you that got that far) and a couple of short stings, and you have a lovely little package of joyful boogie.
All in all, this is a wonderful curio for fans of the game, well worth it if you can find it at a price that suits.

One complaint about this CD that bothers me more than it should: The front cover looks like it would be a great fold-out poster... but the second half is printer directly on the back of the paper, so you can't fold it out. Music is good, though.
