Its a serious affair and reminds me in spirit of Roger Waters. The musicology is still as experimental as ever as at least four generas are weaved together. Rather than becoming phonically muddy though the album is as fresh on the tenth spin as it is the second. It asks two basic questions. What does it feel to be alive and what are you going to do about it? The great song writing saves it from a top heavy theme and gives each listen somthing new to find. Highly recommended.
Increíble un disco de esos q nunca te cansas d oír por bueno y variado. Antiguo componente de The Beta Band así que si los conoces ya sabes por donde van los tiros.
Does this sound like Mason's old band, Beta Band? Only the last 1/3rd of this album's songs approach the schizophrenic brilliance of the Beta's best, the first 2/3rds being a tad more reserved, dare I say, more mature numbers? A good album, his best solo effort to date, but unfortunately I still judge him on the best of the Beta Band's discography. A hard act to follow.
Fan of the now de-funked Beta band for a long time - so really looked forward to getting this album from the band's frontman Steve Mason. And it doesn't dissapoint - coule of the smaller tracks on it - not quite sure why they're there as in my opinian they don't really add much, but overall the album is suberb.

A new record from a familiar artist. A sound as innovative as it is a refreshing blast from the past. As moving upon the first listen as George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass", but of course we'll have to wait see if it's resonance persists.
