映画の内容とは関係ありませんが、(続・死ぬまでにこれは観ろ！)シリーズは背表紙が何故か赤でフォントも安っぽく、続・死ぬまでに〜のダサいロゴ入りで、全くパッケージデザインと合っていません。自分はパッケージも大切だと思っているのでこれは本当に酷いです。なんでこうしたのか理解できません(帯付きにすれば良いだけの話じゃないでしょうか…？)映画の内容とは関係ない部分でがっかりしたのは初めてなので、レビュー書かせていただきました。我が家のBlu-rayコーナーで浮きまくってます。パッケージも重視してる方、気をつけて下さい。映画自体は素晴らしい内容でしたので、非常に残念。

ストーリーは二転三転する面白さがありますが
物語そのものに大きなメッセージが込められており
個人的にはそちらの方が大事なのかな、と感じました。

子供たちにとって生まれた環境は大事ですが
仮に恵まれない環境だったとしても
そこで暮らす子供たちは本当に不幸なのか？？
環境を変えることが本当に幸せなのか？

本人にしかわからないことなんですけどね

良かった部分を言おうとすると、それがそのままネタバレになってしまうので
レビューを書くのが難しいが、ともかく終盤の展開が良い。
最後まで見ると、なるほど冒頭に見せられる
荒んだ町並みと住人のシーンの意味が重みを増してくる。

結末はモヤモヤさせる要素を投げかけてくるものの、後味は決して悪くはなく
その要素が余韻としてうまく働いていると思う。

ホラーかと思ったら、社会派サスペンスという感じで、どんでん返しもあるので、ええええ？？？と騙されました。
しかしながら、都市伝説系ホラーを期待して観たので、そういう意味では裏切られました。そっち好みならバイバイマンの方を観るべき。

この女優さんは
グッと引き込む力があって、サスペンス系にピッタシ！

昔も出てますが、良質なサスペンスにもっと沢山でてきてほしい

映画の内容は、少しひねりの効いたプロットですが、
大体途中で想像がついたのもあって、そこまでででは　と言った感じです
B級な感じは全くなく、映像や演技は丁寧です

En un pueblo moribundo, los niños han estado desapareciendo sin dejar rastro, la gente lo relaciona todo a un hombre (el hombre alto del título) quien se lleva a los niños. Todo marcha bien para la enfermera del pueblo Julia (Jesica Biel) hasta que su hijo es presa del hombre alto.
Primero que nada esta cinta ha sido erróneamente catalogada como cinta de terror, la hacen parecer como una cinta donde Slender Man se roba a los niños, lo cual al mirarla puede resultar confuso. Si bien tiene suspenso, podemos catalogarla como un thriller. Primero que nada Jessica quien actúa y produce nos entrega una actuación más que bien, excelente; ella puede con el peso de la cinta. El director Pascal Laugier quien dirigiera la cinta de terror de culto con extrema violencia Mártires, escribe y dirige esta cinta, lo cual sabe hacer bien: escribe el guión y así mismo lleva esa visión escrita a la pantalla. Ahora la cinta es por demás inquietante, la trama empieza ligera pero termina cuestionando a todo que la vea, no sólo cuenta con vueltas de tuerca interesantes, si no que cambia totalmente el panorama de la cinta que empezaste viendo, sin sentirse forzada o exagerada. Fue una gran sorpresa ver esta cinta, el guión es uno de los mejores, todo recae en el, la recomiendo ampliamente, una de mis nuevas cintas favoritas.
El dvd tiene idioma en inglés y subtítulos en inglés y español, los extras: conceptos visuales, escena eliminada y trailer.

a weird film this,,there is a shante town in the usa where children are being abducted and taken into the forest never to be seen again ,a nurse fairly known by the town has a so and daughter,she hears someone in her house at night and goes down to invetsigate to find her son is gone,chasing the van toto deep forest she is attacked by the dog in the van and left on the road in the dark to bbe found by an fbi gent,then it turns out she is the one taking all the kids and accused of killing all of them and all the townsfolk turn on her,she is put on death row and while she is in a tall man takes another child to be sold,and then the young girl in the film that could not talk leaves and is given a new mother and a better life and asshe stays she notices the nurses young son in the same new town as the girl is now living in ,they recognise each other but say nothing ,a good film but strange

Outstanding movie. Asks a lot of questions. Please watch it with an open mind. It is NOT a horror movie, is more like a social thriller. Don't listen to the naysayers on this website, they most likely didn't understand or don't agree with the final question the movie asks at the very end as the titles role..

The action takes place in a small mining town in Washington state in the middle of the woods. The plot is poorly described on the cover of the blu ray. I will do my best to describe it without spoiling the story for you.

Jessica Biel is a nurse (Julia Denning) who lives in this small town. She was married to the town's doctor who died and now tries to take care of everybody in this small town. This was a booming town with everybody working at the mine. Everybody was prosperous and happy. The mine is closed now for some time and the town is loaded with jobless poor people and a lot of young kids running around aimlessly while their parents drink, smoke, fight, and make more kids (...wonder where all the money comes from, for cigarettes, food and alcohol). The kids grow old and then they get married and make more kids on their own, while sitting in a bar drinking, complaining about how hard life is, and smoking all day long. After the mine closed and the town started deteriorating, young kids started disappearing. Everybody talks about a tall man who is most likely responsible for the abduction of the children. While everybody is uptight about the tall man, the kids are still out playing while their parents seat around in the town's small restaurant drinking, eating, and doing nothing. The movie starts when already 17 young kids are missing and Jessica Biel's son (David) is abducted too. She is chasing down the person who stole her son, and ....

I am going to leave it here because I don't want to give you the really interesting plot and the unexpected ending of the movie. Unlike other movies that let you guess at the end or create your own ending (...sic!), there is a full explanation at the very end of the movie (last 2-3 minutes) and a question that begs for a discussion and an answer. It is difficult to give a straight answer. The director wants to make sure that we know exactly where he is going with the movie. After watching the movie please come back here if you want, and let's have a philosophical discussion about the story and its purpose. Do we need to break the cycle?

Jessica Biel is outstanding and the supporting cast provides a great performance. Five stars all around for the very clever plot and the acting, and remember..."knowledge is the key that opens all the doors".

Quando ho visto il trailer de "I Bambini di Cold Rock" mi sono detto: bene, Jessica Biel è tornata all'horror dopo "Non aprite quella porta", e sembra pure un bell'horror, soprannaturale, da vedere assolutamente insomma (per me appassionato di questo genere)
In sala poi, ho capito abbastanza in fretta che il film di horror non aveva nulla, era un thriller, ritmo serrato, un thriller dove i bambini scompaiono, ma per colpa dell'uomo, nulla di malvagio o diabolico se non l'animo umano; un thriller ben girato, non annoia, anzi... ma dove voleva andare a parare? poi a circa metà del film: ENORME COLPO DI SCENA! e per rubare le parole a Vecchioni "da qui il discorso si allarga e diventa universale in un crescendo di passione" che arriva adirittura nel finale a scalfire la nostra concezione del bene e del male e a riflettere e a pensare...
...quello che riescono a fare i film migliori!
un film assolutamente da scoprire, da rivedere, da possedere, e di cui vantarsi con gli amici!

The Secret est un film qui prend les mêmes codes déjà vus dans  Martyrs . Dès les premières scènes nous sommes mis dans le film sans autre forme de procès que de se poser des questions sur l'histoire et les personnages. Ce film joue là-dessus et sur les points de vue des personnages qui faut la part belle aux personnages féminins pour mieux nous entrainer dans cette histoire où une personne, le "Tall Man" plane sur cette ville. Une atmosphère moins smbre que dans Martyrs puisque le réalisateur étant le même. L’intérêt premier du film se retrouve dans le montage du film et dans un scénario bien ficelé dont l'intrigue se dévoile au fur et à mesure afin, de mieux nous surprendre par le film en lui-même.
En définitive, c'est un très bon thriller que je recommande notamment pour les deux actrices Jessica Biel et Jodelle Ferland ( vue dans  Silent Hill [Blu-ray ]) qui ici dévoile un certain talent en devenir.
