Going into this album, their fifth full length, Calabrese said they wanted to mix things up as far as their sound was concerned, and I think they struck the right balance of expanding their sound, but certainly not losing their trademark style. Dayglo Necros their last album also had a slightly different sound than their first three albums, it had more of an alternative rock sound for lack of a better term and I would say had the catchiest choruses of their career (and they've always written memorable choruses). This is also the shortest amount of time to release an album that Calabrese has ever taken, Dayglo Necros came out only a little more than a year ago, but that is nothing to fear because this just might be the best Calabrese album yet! Wanna Be A Vigilante and especially There is an Evil Inside sound nothing like anything they have ever done before. American Rebel Death Riders is more of an intro than an actual track but it is a great album opener, a fast, hard, death rock song. Born With A Scorpions Touch sounds somewhat similar to the style from Dayglo Necros, but it feels slightly different and has some of the strongest melodies that Calabrese have ever come up with, a great song, should be a hit single if America had good taste in music, but of course that would never happen. I Wanna Be A Vigilante is different from anything else Calabrese have ever done, it is slower than their normal tempo and is moody and atmospheric, and it may take some Calabrese fans a few listens to appreciate but it is one of the best songs on the album, very cool. At Night I Am the Warmest, Mindwarp, and Only the Dead Know My Name are more of the awesome Calabrese we have come to know and love and are some of the best songs of their career. There is an Evil Inside is totally different from anything else Calabrese have ever done, it is more of a blues song and sounds pretty similar to early Danzig albums (Danzig 1-3) and it is really great. I am glad that Calabrese are mixing up their sound because as much as I love them as a band, if a band doesn't ever progress it can become stale, that hasn't happened to Calabrese yet, but I think they realized they needed to adapt a bit in order to keep things fresh! Overall it is a great album from the Calabrese brothers yet again and to all Calabrese fans out there, do yourselves a favor and pick this up right away, and to any horror punk/death rock fans out there who aren't familiar with Calabrese trust me check them out ASAP!

It's their 4th album, that seems to pick up where Dayglo Necro left off. The earlier albums, were more heavy punk rock, while Day Glo, and this one is more in a straight up rock n roll direction. Still a great trip of morbid musical misadventures, that turned me on to the band in the first place.
