The first book in a new cosy mystery series and a new to me author. Set in South Cove, Jill runs a bookshop/coffee shop and also chairs the local tourism team.

When a good friend is being threatened by the local council to move, Jill helps her fight them with deadly consequences.

Together with local police Detective Greg, Jill works to find who is responsible for her good friends death.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and I can't wait to read the next in the series.

At first I felt like this was a typical set up series with common cozy mystery themes, and it took me a little bit to get into the story and mystery. Once it got there though, it blew me out of the water. I was sucked in and really invested of what was happening, and all the different layers that were happening in the mystery. It was so interesting with the historical element, the inheritance drama, the renovation, and of course the mystery. There were just so many twists and turns that I absolutely loved. This was a great way to start to a series, and I am hungry for more.
