2014 release from the Indie musician and visual artist. TJO has always been a shape-shifter. In her tireless search for a music that mirrors and reflects her alchemical, deeply syncretic approach to sound, color, language, surface and texture, she has found herself in a somewhat singular category. Using some very basic recording equipment and her vivid musical imagination, she has achieved a rare essentialism wherein all unnecessary elements have been stripped away leaving only the most indispensable sounds. Concise, but expansive, stripped of unnecessary gestures; guitars resonate, amps hum, and an exquisite, languid melancholia appears out of the haze.

消え入りそうな音像の中に、極めて美しく重厚なブルースが聴こえる。
購入した当初、アルバム全体を音響、アンビエント系の作品として漠然ととらえていたが、どうも座りが悪い…瞑想的で心地良い音と言えるのだけど、何か暗いものを内包しているように見える。それをあっ、ブルースか、と言葉にして納得してしまうと、その暗さは、生命が死に、新たに生まれ来ることのような、希望を背中合わせにしたようなものに聴こえ出した。そして翻って、生命が生まれ来る喜びを、死の側から見て、淡々と寿ぐうたうたのようにも感じられる。いづれにせよ、気高い美しさと、かなしみがよく伝わってくる。
タラさん、きっとすごい人なのだろう。

This dream of an album is the pinnacle of Tara Jane's art to date, IMO. The sound-world she weaves is both strange and delicate; idiosyncratic but compelling; beautiful yet mysterious.
