<ストーリー>

トニー·カーティスとジャック·レモン､２大スターの女装ぶりで有名なコメディ映画の傑作だ。ビギナー映画ファンだった高校·大学時代､ビリー·ワイルダーと言えば､自分的には"コメディの巨匠"というレッテルを勝手に貼っていた。ヘプバーン､モンロー､マクレーンら大女優の代表作『麗しのサブリナ』『七年目の浮気』『お熱いのがお好き』『アパートの鍵貸します』などのラブコメの印象が強かったのだ。

同じ1950年代に撮った､戦争もの『第十七捕虜収容所』やアガサ·クリスティ原作のミステリー劇『情婦』などは傑作だが､あくまでワイルダーの"裏芸"だと思っていた｡(実際は監督出世作『深夜の告白』『失われた週末』『サンセット大通り』など､ノワール系で知られた人だと後で知りました)　だが､ヘプバーンやモンローと組んでからの彼の作品が､コメディ映画のマニュアルと言ってもいいほどの大傑作揃いなのは間違いない。

トニー·カーティスのコメディ主演作としては､この５年後に作られた『求婚専科』を先に見てしまった(中学生時代､TVの日曜洋画劇場でした) 。その『求婚専科』の中で､女に変装したカーティスのことを"ジャック·レモンさん"と呼ぶギャグがあり(淀川長治氏の解説で､意味を知りました)､カーティス&レモンが揃って女装した『お熱いのがお好き』という傑作コメディがあることを知った。ゼヒ"本家"を見てみたいと思うようになり､やっと見られたのは数年後だったかな……。

[物語] 1929年､禁酒法時代のシカゴ。サックス奏者のジョー(カーティス)とベース奏者のジェリー(レモン)は､しがないバンドマン。マフィアのボス､スパッツ(ラフト)が経営する闇クラブのステージで働いていた｡

ある日二人は､スパッツと手下たちが､他のギャングたちを機関銃で殺す現場を目撃してしまう。口封じに殺されそうになった二人は､ほうほうの体で逃亡。その夜､急募のあったドサ回りの女性バンドに､女装して潜り込み､ジョセフィン&ダフネと名乗って､フロリダのホテルでの仕事へと逃げ込む。

潜り込んだ一座の歌手兼ウクレレ奏者のシュガー(モンロー)に恋してしまったジョーは､昼間は女装を解いて､メガネで変装。石油会社の御曹司になりすましてシュガーを口説き始める。ダフネことジェリーは､本物の大富豪のオズグッド3世(ブラウン)に一目惚れされてしまったうえに､求婚までされてしまう。

二人は､ギャングの魔手から逃亡中の身であることを忘れたかのように､"ニセ恋"や"ニセ玉の輿"騒動を展開。オズグッド3世の豪華ヨットや最新モーターボートを利用し､周囲を巻き込んで､"ニセ恋の鞘当て"トラブルで大わらわ！

そんなある日､彼らのいるホテルで「イタリア·オペラ同好会」という団体の大会が開催される。じつは､その団体はマフィアの隠れ蓑で､ジョーとジェリーを探すスパッツと手下たちも"出席"してきたから､さぁ〰タイヘン……!!

ポスターや､映画冒頭のクレジットでは､マリリン·モンローの名前がトップだが､主役はトニー·カーティスとジャック·レモンである。もちろん､モンローも単なる添えものやお飾りではなく､彼女ならではの存在感を発揮してくれてます｡(彼女の歌もゴキゲンです｡有名な「ププッピドゥ〰♪」ってヤツ)　今回見たBlu-rayは日本語吹替版入りで､カーティス=広川太一郎､レモン=愛川欽也､モンロー=向井真理子の定番キャストが懐かしくて､嬉しかった〰！

女装の男たちの話ではあるが､LGBTなどという真面目なテーマではもちろんなく､あくまでコメディのためのネタだ。しかし､いくらコメディと言っても､倫理的制約やタブーの多かったこの時代の映画としては､一種倒錯的なギャグは珍しかったのではないだろうか｡(５年後に作られた前述の映画『求婚専科』でもギャグねたに使われたほどのインパクトがあったようだ)

これが'80年代以降になると『トッツィー』『ミセス·ダウト』のように､女装ネタのコメディは珍しくなくなるし､世紀末頃から(?)は､LGBTを正面からテーマに取り上げた作品もずいぶん作られるようになりました……って､真面目に語るような『お熱いのがお好き』ではありませんね､失礼､脱線しました(笑)　コメディの巨匠ビリー·ワイルダーが本領を遺憾なく発揮した傑作です。

[余談] これまで何度か見た作品だが､今回初めて気がついたことがある。後半､フロリダのホテルでマフィアの"大会"に参加するため､ギャングのジョージ·ラフトが再登場するあたりで､大ボスの手下たちが､参加者が武器を持ち込まないよう身体検査をする場面。手下の一人が､カッコつけてコインを親指ではじいてコイントスを繰り返していると､ラフトがコインを奪い取ってやめさせて睨むエピソードがある。

ギャング映画スターとして名を馳せたラフト氏。かつての出世作『暗黒街の顔役』(ハワード·ホークス監督)の中で､コイントスがクセのギャングの役をやって有名になったんですね。自分のトレードマークのコイントスを真似する若造を叱る……という楽屋落ち的なギャグであると同時に､名作『暗黒街の顔役』へのオマージュでしょうか。昔見た時は､元ネタを知らなかったので､今回初めて気づきました(笑)

ビリー ワイルダーの作品の中でかなり面白いコメディだと思います。古い作品だけど今のドラマなどにとても影響を与えていると思います。モンローが可愛いくて、ジャック・レモンとトニー・カーチスが最高。流石ビリー ワイルダー。

マリリン・モンローの名シーンが見れて大満足。ちなみに「お熱いの」とはジャズのことッス。女性ばかりの楽団に女装でもぐりこむジャック・レモンとトニー・カーティスに、「誰か気付けよ」状態。突っ込みどころ満載です。そしてビリー・ワイルダー監督ならではの伏線の張り方や、小物の使い方がまたイイね。ただマリリン・モンローがあまりにも頭の悪いキャラにされてないか？あれじゃただの「尻軽女」じゃん。ドタバタシーンを織り交ぜつつ、全体的にほのぼのした感じが映画を見やすくしてますので、モノクロ映画が苦手な方でも安心して見れます。

Some Like It Hot is a 1959 American crime comedy film directed, produced and co-written by Billy Wilder.
After witnessing a Mafia murder, slick saxophone player Joe and his long-suffering buddy, Jerry, improvise a quick plan to escape from Chicago with their lives. Disguising themselves as women, they join an all-female jazz band and hop a train bound for sunny Florida. While Joe pretends to be a millionaire to win the band's sexy singer, Sugar, Jerry finds himself pursued by a real millionaire as things heat up and the mobsters close in.

Set in the 1920s, 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑰𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒕 is based on a screenplay for a French film entitled 𝑭𝒂𝒏𝒇𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆, which was released in 1935 and directed by Kurt Hoffman. Like a vulture gnawing on an uninspired carcass, 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑰𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒕 borrows from it the premise of two musicians who join an all female Orchestra, though in the source material it is a matter of needing employment that drives the narrative.
Keen to the value of urgency(Amongst other things, given public reception to 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑰𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒕’s themes), Wilders’ leading men find themselves as witnesses at the tale-end of a tragedy that was also inspired by the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre of 1929; this is indicated by loose allusions to Irish and Italian mobsters, and an eventual reference to the fact of the suspected mastermind Al Capone was staying in Florida at the time said event took place. Victims of circumstance, Joe and Jerry ditch Chicago with stilettos in tow (With their toes and some stilettos, #HAHA), their livelihoods depending on how well they can sashay through tense and provocative situations.

Having moved to the United States when he was almost thirty after having originally having worked as a filmmaker in Berlin, it might be fair to assume that in terms of content Wilder's leaning towards those deemed “controversial” was second nature; produced without the stamp of approval from Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America because it features cross-dressing (And sexual innuendos), Wilder's outright defiance of the Haye’s Code put 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑰𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒕 at ends with conservative viewers. this is further evidenced by general adherence to what became informally known as the “three-article rule” during the 50s and 60s, which advised the wearing of three items of “gender appropriate clothing” to avoid being arrested for public impersonation or disguise.
All that accounted for, the zealed commitment demonstrated by Wilder's crew cannot be overstated, nor can anyone involved be written off as pawns in some slapstick stunt. Lemmon and Curtis embody their boy-meets-girl quandary with great jolly, cognizant of the space between every significant figure and punchline. Judging by the end product alone, even Marilyn Monroe relishes her presence as a notably attractive woman with charm, hyper-aware of her appeal and how easy it would be to designate her as nothing more than a placeholder for shallow attraction.

With the exception of interactions where objectification runs awry (Though perhaps serving a point to be made), 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑰𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒕 vulgarity extends as an exercise in gender roles and relationship dynamics. Through their time as (And, most importantly, amongst) “women” Jerry and Joe are made acutely aware of conduct the sex opposite of them are expected to choke down as “occupational hazards”, though what manifests certainly isn't indicative of enduring change or self-awareness. In fact, it is quite the opposite at times, as there's a constant game of “guess who” afoot, though they do lend to a larger conversation surrounding preconceptions about what makes an ideal partner; such is to blame for its mosaic of curated (Albeit ridiculous) experiences in this exposé that result in both 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑰𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒕 most comedic moments and those that tend to be more heartwarming or sentimental.

Altogether, it is somewhat of a mystery what the creation of 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑰𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒕 was meant to achieve, except to say that throughout the entirety of his career Billy Wilder managed to distinguish himself as a director who was uninterested in pandering to expected regulations and the like. That said, there really is something quite pedestrian that transpires here given the fact this story centers around two blokes that are just trying to make the best of a terribly (And rare) situation, and some of the intrigue is in seeing people evidently get what they deserve. Whether it be freedom, earnesty, or whatever else can be extrapolated from its iconic final line, with sincerity and wit 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑰𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒕 shows us that even when life drags (Literally, even) it can be its own kind of wonderful: And even when it’s not it might be worth it to hike whatever figurative skirts get thrown our way higher and play along.

J'avais commandé celui-ci en "marketplace" mais j'ai reçu celui dont j(ai fait un scan . Donc pour ce qui est du bonus, je me réfère à celui de la photo qui est en vente sur ce site..
Un trio de feu : Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis* et Marilyn Monroe - mais aussi d'autres vedettes et les figurantes de l'orchestre elles aussi très jolies et d' exceptionnelles actrices - le tout dans une comédie totalement déjantée pour l’époque. Billy Wilder a mis quatre ans après avoir tourné « Sept ans de réflexion » pour retrouver son actrice fétiche –Marilyn Monroe- dans son nouveau film « Certains l’aiment chaud ». Encore une fois par des dialogues très coquins et tendancieux mais aussi par des scènes assez « hot » qui cependant feraient sourire aujourd’hui – ah le chanceux Tony Curtis ;--)) – avec des robes ou des nuisettes qui dénudent plus que n’habillent Marilyn Monroe et des chansons magnifiques ; Wilder repousse de nouveau la censure qui sera présente ne l’oublions pas jusqu’en 1968 à Hollywood - le triste Code Hayes. Un film que Wilder a voulu tourner en NB car pour lui cela reflétait plus l'ambiance des films de gangsters du début des années trente et grâce à cette décision il a fait mouche.
Le bonus est exceptionnel et comprend :
- une longue interview datant de 2001 de Tony Curtis- dans cette interview, il jure qu'il n'a jamais dit que "embrasser Marilyn, c'est comme embrasser Hitler", d'ailleurs cette affirmation, il ne la comprend pas lui-même.
- l’interview de quatre anciennes figurantes de l’orchestre, également datant de 2001.
- le Hall de la mémoire - qui est en dessin virtuel le hall de l'hôtel- avec des séquences sur Marilyn Monroe, sur Tony Curtis, sur Jacl Lemmon, sur Billy Wilder et les dernières intitulées « behind the film ».
* Tony Curtis fut mon idole dans l'enfance avec la série "Amicalement vôtre" qui passait sur TF1 dans l'émission "la Une est à vous" dans laquelle le public chez lui devait choisir entre trois séries. Je portais souvent des gants comme Danny Wilde ;--)). Par contre dans l'interview , j'ai retrouvé un vieux monsieur assez vaniteux, je viens de commander son livre de souvenirs sur ce film , livre qu'il a fait écrire par un écrivain pro, je vous dirai ce que j'en pense .
En attendant, je me passe avec plaisir et en boucle certains moments cultes de ce film magnifique.

Billy Wilder a mis quatre ans après avoir tourné « Sept ans de réflexion » pour retrouver son actrice fétiche –Marilyn Monroe- dans son nouveau film « Certains l’aiment chaud ». Encore une fois par des dialogues très coquins et tendancieux mais aussi par des scènes assez « hot » qui cependant feraient sourire aujourd’hui – ah le chanceux Tony Curtis ;--)) – avec des robes ou des nuisettes qui dénudent plus que n’habillent Marilyn Monroe et des chansons magnifiques ; Wilder repousse de nouveau la censure qui sera présente ne l’oublions pas jusqu’en 1968 à Hollywood - le triste Code Hayes. Un film que Wilder a voulu tourner en NB car pour lui cela reflétait plus l'ambiance des films de gangsters du début des années trente et grâce à cette décision il a fait mouche.
Le bonus est exceptionnel et comprend :
- une longue interview datant de 2001 de Tony Curtis- dans cette interview, il jure qu'il n'a jamais dit que "embrasser Marilyn, c'est comme embrasser Hitler", d'ailleurs cette affirmation, il ne la comprend pas lui-même.
- l’interview de quatre anciennes figurantes de l’orchestre, également datant de 2001.
- le Hall de la mémoire - qui est en dessin virtuel le hall de l'hôtel- avec des séquences sur Marilyn Monroe, sur Tony Curtis, sur Jacl Lemmon, sur Billy Wilder et les dernières intitulées « behind the film ».
* Tony Curtis fut mon idole dans l'enfance avec la série "Amicalement vôtre" qui passait sur TF1 dans l'émission "la Une est à vous" dans laquelle le public chez lui devait choisir entre trois séries. Je portais souvent des gants comme Danny Wilde ;--)). Par contre dans l'interview , j'ai retrouvé un vieux monsieur assez vaniteux, je viens de commander son livre de souvenirs sur ce film , livre qu'il a fait écrire par un écrivain pro, je vous dirai ce que j'en pense .
En attendant, je me passe avec plaisir et en boucle certains moments cultes de ce film magnifique.

This is my favorite Marilyn Monroe movie. It is really a cute movie and holds entertainment value over time.
Jack Lemmon is hilarious in this move. A timeless classic. Nobody's perfect !!!
