Another great "lost" LP from the Mainstream label, who recorded similar worthwhile efforts from rock bands from all over the USA. None charted except the Amboy Dukes but this means nothing as to the musical quality.
Ellie Pop is a terrible name for a good Beatles/Hollies style harmony pop/rock group. The cover design is also terrible. These elements combined probably kept a lot of potential buyers away from this LP both then (1968) and now. They shouldn't. Ellie Pop's songwriting and musicianship are average, but their vocal abilities are way above average. All the songs but one are originals.
Apparently nothing is known about this group except that they were from Michigan. There is no booklet or anything. The cover and back cover are reprinted and that's all.
Sound quality appears to be from the original masters.
