Stephanie Roth Sisson is an artist who has illustrated many books for children, most recently the Princess Posey chapter book series. Star Stuff is the first picture book that she has both written and illustrated. She lives in California.

Carlのファンである私は
この絵本を海外サイトで知って
さっそく注文。
（対象年齢が低いから私でも読めるだろうと大胆にも）

Carlが宇宙に興味を持ち
天文学者になって行った研究をわかりやすくまとめた絵本。

本人の特徴をとらえたかわいらしい少年時代、
天文学者になってからの表情も、
見事にとらえ、誰もが微笑ましくなってしまうのではないでしょうか？

こういう絵本はやはり手に取って、
（こどもと）めくりながら眺めたいです。
（途中に織り込みページがあります）

11月には小峰書房から日本語版が出版されました。
嬉しいですね（そっちも買っちゃいました）。

He comprado este libro para mi hijo de 3 años y medio, al que le interesan los cohetes y las estrellas.
Pensé que una biografía de Carl Sagan, escrita para niños, resultaría interesante e inspiradora y así ha sido.
La historia es fácilmente entendible para niños pequeños y los dibujos les resultan interesantes.
Estoy tan contenta con el resultado, que he comprado otro para mi sobrina.

My 4 y/o son is interested in all things science, and why shouldn't he be, the world is beautiful and full of curiosities. So I got Star Stuff for him to help keep him inspired with the story of a boy who fed his curiosity enough that he was able to do it as a grown up. What a wonderful job, to ask questions and find answers! He really likes it, too. It's a simple story with beautiful illustrations. And it does a good job of inspiring awe in a child's way, of poking curiosity. You can see the child's wheels turning as they look at the pictures and think about their own thoughts, observations, and dreams.
